Anthony Davis was on most Preseason All American lists. Kidd-Gilchrist was on some but not all of the Preseason lists.

Kidd-Gilchrist was not even close to being the second best player in college basketball, I'm not surprised at all the Flanders from SHSU is first team but I would have thought Zach Bauman NAU would have been somewhere in the discussion too

It's a team game. You don't necessarily need stars (particularly if they are ball hogs like Moss) to win. If stars have good chemistry, they'll help, but if they play for themselves, they'll tear the team down.

(Besides, Montana will have some first-teamers AFTER the season, when it counts, I'm sure....)

Hell no Tebow was horrible as a college QB he was exposed as a weak thrower in practice when pro scouts came to Gainsville and that was on a good day!!!!!!

And to back that up it was a shock that Gilchrist was taken as the no.2 pick in the current draft by Charlotte.

I'm not surprised our PK Zach Brown is on the First Team list. Based on his record he's got to be one of the top three kickers in the country. We didn't have any others, but what the hell, as you say it's a team game. All we have to do is get to the forty hard line and Brown will do the rest.

He's not even 6'6 in his stocking feet with a poor outside shot. I know he's been compared to Iguodola but I see him as more of a Corey Maggette. We'll see how it pans out for Jordan

The "problem" with ODU's offense is that so many players touch the ball, it's difficult for any one player to put up huge stats. I really wouldn't be surprised to see heinickes name on one of these lists if he plays at the exact same level as last year. 25tds and 1int in 9 games speaks for itself.

Coming off a big injury, though… it isn't surprising that he's not.


And I agree that Zach Bauman should definitely be on the list. He averaged 162 total YPG (130 rush) last year despite a mediocre O-Line.

I'd say he's better than everyone except maybe Bumpas.

I doubt there's a faster LB in the big sky, and I think he'll end up 1st team all big sky at the end.

I think fans on these message boards need to wait for opponents to say the same thing or else the comments always look biased. Tripp is good but we need to see what he does coming off an injury. He's definitely good but every school says "we wouldn't trade our guy for anyone else" because you feel loyal to them. From my evals of the Big Sky Tripp is probably the 3rd or 4th most talented LB but he's coming back in a year where the league is loaded with good LBs.

For example, did you see the SEC did a preseason 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team? The Big Sky is so loaded because of the new teams that I think there would be good players left off a 3rd team All-Big Sky at this level. In fact, I think there are at least 15-17 LBs in the Big Sky who have all-conference talent and would be all-conference in half the other leagues around the country. Tripp would be 1st team in at least 7 other conferences. The only leagues I would not put him 1st team in are the SoCon, Big Sky, CAA, and maybe Missouri Valley this year. He's a good player who just happens to be in a loaded league.
