...FCS team that UMass plays after moving up to FBS...
UMaine athletic director Steve Abbott on Tuesday confirmed UMaine is negotiating to play the University of Massachusetts at Foxborough as one of two FBS contests in 2013.
“It’s something we’ve tentatively agreed to and we’re working on the details,” said Abbott, who added the financial guarantee will be smaller than for UMaine’s previous FBS games.
According to a report in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, UMass is expected pay UMaine less than $200,000 for the game, which is slated for Sept. 7, 2013.
The Black Bears will play two FBS games in 2013 since they will be playing 12 games instead of 11...the game is scheduled to be played in Gillette Stadium...

Great for New England FCS football...I'd like to see us play one regional FCS foe a year on a regular basis...Was suprised a bit when they announced it as UMass stated they didn't want to play an FCS game ever...I'm sure scheduling played a part in the whole deal..
I like Molnar, but he needs to take a step down from his high horse a bit. I personally don't see any difference in playing a CAA team every week in week out with 63 schollies and a I-A game versus playing a MAC team week in week out with 85 schollies week in week out (Although we are at 83 this year.) We have stepped up OOC for this year, but we are also trying to grab as much money as possible to help the transition..
Have you found any good MAC message boards besides Van Delay sports...I think of Seinfield everytime I go over there..Not much specific stuff over there..
