I love the way the FBS is characterized as filling 100,000 seat stadiums. That may be true for what, four schools. There are a lot of FBS schools that struggle with 15,000. 50,000 is good for most of the FBS.

I said it in an earlier thread once Division 1-A approved the 4-team playoff system that calling it the FCS was an endangered animal. Now this is officially the last season of "FCS" football.

The new playoff format doesn't start until the 2014 season. We'll have one more year!

Might as well just call it the ESPN league and the Non-ESPN league.
1-AA= Non-ESPN

Read the article - they're coinciding the name change with 1-AA going to 24 teams which happens next fall....

ditto. I've always been secure enough to accept D1-AA. They should return to that designation. Sorry if the wrestling & vollyball teams have an issue with public perception....earn some fokking gate and I'll start to give a shit....

FCS = OFCS (Original Championship Subdivison)
FBS = NFCS (New Championship Subdivision)
