GTFO.
MTSU scores with 6:58left - gets 2pt conv on a scramble desperation anybody could have had it pass
McNeese 28
MTSU 14
MTSU going for the on-side kick, didn't get it and used an illegal formation so McNesse gets the ball on the 46 and now running the ball downfield to the 19.

The defense stopped looking impressive.
Bears D let up about 3 mins left in the first half and the Utah O woke up. It was actually pretty entertaining up until then. Now it needs to just be over.

We'll see how the new rules take affect. Players can call a fair catch on the one bouncers now.
Hornets have a solid opening drive but the drive stalls inside the 20...and the FG is good. 28-13 NMSU early 3rd QTR. Hornet D needs to step it up if we want to crawl back in this one.

So in other words they will fit right in with the Sun Belt?
McNeese physically dominated. I think the stats will show that. The game was close because McNeese gave up some big special teams plays and missed on wide open pass plays either because the quarterback was off or because the receivers dropped the ball. Should've been a bigger point spread. But it's a win over a FBS which will help if it comes tine for at large bid selections so I'll take it.

Yeah I looked up the stats. Here we go (edited after Yahoo Sports corrected/finalized them):
First downs: McNeese 24, Middle Tennessee State 20
Total yards: McNeese 450, Middle Tennessee State 343
Rushing yards: McNeese 298,Middle Tennessee State 103
Plus McNeese was +2 (0 turnovers vs. 2 for Middle Tennessee) in the giveaway/takeaway stat.
The big concern for McNeese fans is that they could control the game like that, particularly with respect to running the ball and stopping the run, and have it still in doubt late in the fourth quarter even though they were also +2 in turnover margin.

This is not a good start for teh Sun Belt. Apparently commision Karl Benson was at the Georgia Dome tonight. Attendance for the 65,000-seat Dome was appx 12,000 with 3,000 of those being SCSU fans.

Yep. All you need to know about the Sun Belt is that the Southland had a winning head to head record against it and the edge got extended tonight by McNeese in a game, as I said, that ended in a final score that comes nowhere close to indicating how whipped up on the Sun Belt team was. What on EARTH would be happening to the Sun Belt if it was regularly playing games against the CAA? I shudder to think.

UND QB Braden Hanson left game with severly hurt ankle (possible broken) he was on the sideline in a boot and on crutches. I haven't heard the official word on the injury. I hope its nothing more than a sprain.

I would think he didn't get hurt late in the game. You may need him next week.
49-19 NMSU over Sac final. Late turnovers that gifted NMSU great field position tarnished what otherwise was a respectable 2nd half showing. Plenty to take from this game. Safron showed some glimpses of improvement and the defense played well against the run but struggled against the pass. We'll see how this goes.
