Is it actually possible that we'll end up with the same record as UNC? Jesus H, time to just drop the program.

You could also finish below us in the conference standings.Grizalltheway wrote:Is it actually possible that we'll end up with the same record as UNC? Jesus H, time to just drop the program.

Well done UNC. For those of us not in the know, what is the reason for the turn around? Young players finally coming around? Better QB play? Better game planning?

4-6 for UNC and they're tearing down goalposts in celebration. 5-5 for the Griz and they've got Monte on suicide watch.Grizo406 wrote:Wedgebuster wrote:Welcome to your first official year of competing at the FCS level of football!

And we're winning even without our All-American LB.

Answer my question. It was actually an honest one, I promise.BigSkyBears wrote:And we're winning even without our All-American LB.
Re: University Of Northern Colorado Bears..
It's a lot of things. Mainly being that we were astonishingly young last season (like playing 3 true freshmen in the secondary kind of young) and the seniors we did have last year were, save one or two, just not very good. The balance on offense has improved as well and there was some reshuffling of the coaching staff that has had a positive impact.SDHornet wrote:Well done UNC. As free says, it's a lot of things. I think coach Collins brought in some JC and FBS transfers that helped a ton. Our defense has always been pretty good this season but at the start of the season our offense was horrible and they were always putting the defense in bad spots. Lobato was really struggling. However, he's really turned it around the past few games.SDHornet wrote:Answer my question. I dont want to sound like a jerk for saying this, I really am happy for UNC, but I would be more impressed with thier wins if they werent against 3 teams that are a combined 5-25

Hey, beating bad teams is better than losing to bad teams, and we've lost to a lot of bad teams in the last few years.Wildcat Ryan wrote:I dont want to sound like a jerk for saying this, I really am happy for UNC, but I would be more impressed with thier wins if they werent against 3 teams that are a combined 5-25

A win this weekend against UND would be big for the Bears, possibly solidifying their stature as best mediocre team in the BSC this year, huge improvement over chronic status as the Oyster Shit of the BSC, now being closed in on by ISU.

Thanks for the responses. I agree UNC has had a decent defense in recent years, and when we played you guys earlier this season the line play on both sides of the ball wasn’t bad. UNC just couldn’t get much offense going. If you guys are getting decent QB play, that should make a ton of difference.BigSkyBears wrote:As free says, it's a lot of things. Has this turn around quelled the naysayers on the UNC board?

Yeah, that board is only busy when there's shit to be said. When things are going well, it's a ghost town.SDHornet wrote:Thanks for the responses. That's too bad. It's been eerily quiet on our board as well.BigSkyBears wrote:Yeah, that board is only busy when there's shit to be said. Another win over North Dakota gets the Bears to 5-6 (4-4) including wins in 4 of their last 5 games. Congrats to Coach Collins and the team!

Looks like Collins is rebuilding the Bears back into the winners we were in the old D2 days. Nice job Bears!!!
