Coastal showed why they are an elite team in FCS. Many may not admit it, because CCU is a new name to FCS, but CCU is absolutely among the elite of FCS right now. They ran the ball so well against Montana, making huge plays when it mattered. All week, everyone did indeed say CCU is weak, and how a team from the South would never be able to handle the 0 degree weather up there.

Great win CCU. Beat NDSU next week!
Dude, you beat Montana. Big deal.

Montana wasn't good this year. But, it was nice that you beat their stadium because their team didn't deserve a seed. :thumb:

Moantana did beat one team with a winning record this year.

What's even more surprising is your coach ditching your team before the season is even over! :o Fargo must be a freezing cold dump.

Im not a CCU fan, but I root for them as they are a BSC team.

But, if Montana wasn't very good this year, then that's my whole point. They didn't deserve a home playoff game. But, got one, due to bias in the FCS committee.

But wow, how does NDSU's coach bail in the middle of the playoffs? How will that affect the Coastal game?

If he does bail, it's not a classy move. Have to see how the players react on the field against Coastal. I don't think NDSU will take Coastal for granted like Moantana did.

I guess its no different than a coach taking a job before a bowl game, like Washington's guy taking the SoCal job. But the playoffs are different.

I think NDSU will be fine. May be a bit distracted if he announces he's out. But their defense is amazingly good, and as long as they have that D, they'll be hard to beat.

Coastal's offense will be a big test for the defense.

Well welcome to the club, young Padawan and enjoy your stay. The term "Woffed" was coined well before the BSC ever landed a team in the playoffs.

Furman was a freak pick this year. If not for the AQ, they would not have made it into the playoffs. Chattanooga had a much better argument for being in the playoffs than any of the BSC teams that made it this year, bias or not.

Like I said, tear it up again next year and the BSC might get two in. But whining about getting Woffed pre-dates the BSC.
Im sure it does. But doesn't make the bias fair. If no one complains, it'll never be addressed. Not that 1 person's opinion matters.

So, Citadel keeping Kevin Higgins, or not?
Of course we are keeping him. With the exception of Wofford, all our losses to FCS teams were by 7 points or less. We'll be just fine (and more two-dimensional) next year.

We play three BSC teams, too- so we'll see if CSU, et al were just a flash in the pan or not.

I don't think I've ever seen a coach do that for an FCS team still actively in the playoffs.

But seriously, two blowout losses for the Big Fluffy...and then the defeat in Grizzyworld (home field worth about 14 points). Those games can't be called flukes...the Big Sky simply doesn't play defense.
Yeah, I guess it's just a fluke we held the FCS rushing leader to a little over 3 yards a carry and under 100 yards on the day.
77 yards to the nations #2 rusher from the Big Fluffy's #7 or #8 defense. Hey cluck...MVFC and SLC have only one left too. :dunce:

UD butthurt... :ohno:

Seriously, congrats to CCU. Fantastic win in a very tough environment. As to the Big South chest pumping...

Coastal is an elite FCS team. CSU was fortunate to win that game.

Your team, Liberty, got robbed. They deserved a playoff slot.

If South Carolina State and Samford got in, a lot of teams have an argument. Including those two made no sense.

And Montana's been getting out coached all season

Let's not go overboard here. CCU is not an "elite" FCS program. Great win today, and good team this season, yes. How many times have they been in the playoffs in the last 10 years? How many playoff wins? National Championships? Thats what defines "elite" teams at this level. CCU is far from being an elite team.

By that reasoning. EWU would not be an "elite" BCS school. They beat a ranked Oregon State team at their place. After figuring in the 14 points for home field advantage, it was actually a blow out. So Ranger, I have to reject your reasoning.

Seriously though, a nice win for CCU over Montana. I think many thought Montana got a bit of a break on the seeding, but I also think many still expected them to beat CCU. So congrats CCU, take it, and build on it.

Good luck next week CCU, I'll be rooting for you. (bring cowbells, they hate that)

IMO, the players will rally together and make them more determined to win the NC.

Hopefully the assistants stay until the season if over but I'm sure many of them will go with him to Wyoming.

Playoffs 7 out of the last 10 years, a National Championship, 4 National Players of the year (will be 5 or 6 this year), a win over an AP top 25 team. If that's not elite I'm not sure what is.

Elite? Let's settle down. We beat an overrated Montana. It's a great win but let's not go crazy here. I'm looking forward to playing NDSU and I hope the coach ditching them works in our favor.

SoCon was a soft conference this year. But let's face it, Montana was weak sauce this year. They never deserved a seed, but got one due to their attendance. Cripes, Coastal would have destroyed Montana if Montana came East.

Now the Big Fluffy is down to one team...no surprise to anyone that watches football.
Hey douche nozzle, being the 8 seed in NDSU's side of the bracket meant that we'd have only played one home game whether we were seeded or not. Try to use that pea brain of yours before you open your cock holster.
