Coastal beats Montana; Weather not a factor; Bias in playoff

As the only CCU alum/fan on this site, I'm excited. We've progressed further than we ever have. After a weak of hearing how weak we are, and how loud and cold Missoula is, CCU won. CCU pulled ahead after a tie and never lost position.

Coastal showed why they are an elite team in FCS. Many may not admit it, because CCU is a new name to FCS, but CCU is absolutely among the elite of FCS right now. They ran the ball so well against Montana, making huge plays when it mattered. All week, everyone did indeed say CCU is weak, and how a team from the South would never be able to handle the 0 degree weather up there.

I guess its no different than a coach taking a job before a bowl game, like Washington's guy taking the SoCal job. But the playoffs are different.

I think NDSU will be fine. May be a bit distracted if he announces he's out. But their defense is amazingly good, and as long as they have that D, they'll be hard to beat.

Well welcome to the club, young Padawan and enjoy your stay. The term "Woffed" was coined well before the BSC ever landed a team in the playoffs.

Furman was a freak pick this year. If not for the AQ, they would not have made it into the playoffs. Chattanooga had a much better argument for being in the playoffs than any of the BSC teams that made it this year, bias or not.

Like I said, tear it up again next year and the BSC might get two in. But whining about getting Woffed pre-dates the BSC.

Of course we are keeping him. With the exception of Wofford, all our losses to FCS teams were by 7 points or less. We'll be just fine (and more two-dimensional) next year.

We play three BSC teams, too- so we'll see if CSU, et al were just a flash in the pan or not.

But seriously, two blowout losses for the Big Fluffy...and then the defeat in Grizzyworld (home field worth about 14 points). Those games can't be called flukes...the Big Sky simply doesn't play defense.

Yeah, I guess it's just a fluke we held the FCS rushing leader to a little over 3 yards a carry and under 100 yards on the day.

Out of 11 seasons, I think this is our 4th trip to the playoffs an first time past round 2.

SoCon was a soft conference this year. But let's face it, Montana was weak sauce this year. They never deserved a seed, but got one due to their attendance. Cripes, Coastal would have destroyed Montana if Montana came East.
