Congrats to NDSU!
I'm certainly no fan of the Bison, but when you beat a BCS team on their home field, you deserve your own thread. Even if they do it almost every year, and the win came against a really weak BCS team.

Nice win. NDSU is not dead without the coach!

While I think EWU will ultimately win the title, the rumors of NDSU's demise were sorely exaggerated....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

It was awesome to watch the clown fans heading for the parking lot with 8 minutes left! The supreme tailgaters were all but gone by the time the game was over.

No kidding. A total ass stomping by NDSU.
They started out shakey, but got it going quickly.

Pretty nervous in the first half, specifically with the defense. NDSU adjusted and it appeared to be like old times. Only question is, how bad is Iowa St. NDSU will be tested in a few weeks against the Griz. Just hope the Bison don't lay and egg against Weber St before that. Can't overlook that game either. Great second weekend for FCS football.

Re: Congrats to NDSU!
Well, I wouldn't have bet on it because they lost so much and changed coaches. But I'm just about through watching a replay of the game. Just saw the last TD. And there's no question in my mind that they're the favorite to win the title again. Anything can happen in any one game. But, if anything, they look better than any of their three national title teams to me. We'll see. But good GRIEF. It could've been worse for Iowa State. North Dakota State just totally dominated them physically.
And they have much more of a physical specimen at quarterback than they did during the previous three years. Another thing: Instead of having two really good backs to rotate at tailback, they've got three. So on and so forth.
And the defense looked really, really dominant. Once again they'll be the example I refer to when people say it's just not POSSIBLE to shut down offenses in this era. They do it all the time.

Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Dunno about that. Saw flashes of good things against Wyoming, but I think the Griz will need to play at or above 100% of their abilities to have a chance in the FFD. We shall see.Aho Old Guy wrote: At least until Sept 20th.

Re: Congrats to NDSU!
Winning in Fargo will be tough, though I'm skeptical NDSU is really as good as the Cyclones made them look. They still lost quite a bit of key production from last year. Hopefully the Griz D-Line will wreak some havoc to keep the offense in the game.Grizalltheway wrote:Dunno about that. Re: Congrats to NDSU!
I wouldn't worry too much about NDSU, loss of 24 seniors, new coach, new QB, lack of depth on D-Line. Strength is, Strength and conditioning. Iowa St players looked pretty tired at the end of the game.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Winning in Fargo will be tough, though I'm skeptical NDSU is really as good as the Cyclones made them look. I want it duly noted that the NDSU HC is a Northern Iowa graduate and football alum.
Enough said.
