Next Saturday should be a great football day. The post game show was saying the 2 teams next week have 5 National Championships, 10 Championship game appearances. They talked about the Griz Sr QB and giving Wyoming a good run for it's money.AZGrizFan wrote:Real good stuff. Kudos to NDSU fans and Fargo for putting on a great show.

It's a game and a date I've had circled on my calendar since it was announced. And I'm STILL not going to make it.Gil Dobie wrote:Next Saturday should be a great football day. This. And that game was a nail biter. Literally a game of inches and seconds.Gil Dobie wrote:......and how energized would the South Carolina crowd be after that loss? They are the primary audience that would show up for Game Day.ming01 wrote:

This is a big deal. UGA is a rival PLUS they beat Clempson. It's a great own for us.AZGrizFan wrote:Don't know about the crowd in SC, but apparently last weeks loss pissed the PLAYERS off...congrats to SC for knocking of Georgia.Gil Dobie wrote:

Carolina lost the first week, not last week.

If you saw Game Day or watched the video interview of with the ESPN guys, you will understand why they had Game Day in Fargo. Sorry that you FBS guys don't care about FCS.Ibanez wrote:This is a big deal. UGA is a rival PLUS they beat Clempson. It's a great own for us.AZGrizFan wrote:

That isn't it at all. Who gives a shit about the #1 team beating up in a D2 or whatever IW is?Gil Dobie wrote:If you saw Game Day or watched the video interview of with the ESPN guys, you will understand why they had Game Day in Fargo. Sorry that you FBS guys don't care about FCS.Ibanez wrote:

If NDSU wins the NC again, IMO, Gameday will be back next year!!

That's not why Game Day came to Fargo, it wasn't about the game. The producer said it was the best scene ever for Game Day. The video interviews below also tell why Fargo was selected. If you watched Game Day, there was a lot of focus on the Georgia / SC game. Like they said in the interview, they can do a good show from the studio. Fargo welcomed ESPN with a great reception last year, and ESPN returned with the same huge welcome. Any FCS program with the same streak could have had a great Game Day, aka App St a few years back, Montana almost any year, etc.Ibanez wrote:That isn't it at all. Thank you Fargo. Today's scene was the best ever for @CollegeGameDay. Thanks for the hospitality and enthusiasm. We will be back.

I'm sure the game day experience is important to them, but they aren't televising tailgaters. It's about the game. And I'd bet my last dollar that the game day experience of NDSU & UM blows Incarnate Word out of the water.Gil Dobie wrote:That's not why Game Day came to Fargo, it wasn't about the game. Re: ESPN College Game Day to Fargo AGAIN!
I don't know what more can be said on this topic. Some folks just don't understand English. Gameday came to do the show from Fargo for NDSU because of NDSU. It had nothing to do with who we were playing. It wouldn't have mattered it if was Montana, EWU or Nebraska for that matter. They came for the atmosphere that the fans bring to the downtown location. No NDSU fans ever said Gameday was coming because of who we were playing. Most if not all NDSU fans would have rather had them here for the Montana game. NDSU and the fans weren't asked or given the opportunity to say we'd like you to come for the Montana game. It's pretty simple if you listen to what Lee Fitting said. Lastly it wouldn't have mattered to the FBS crowd if we played Montana or UIW to them it's still not FBS and that's all that matters to them. Plain and simple really.

It was good and bad for I-AA. The good, NDSU fans and Fargo really brought it again, but the fact that it was Incarnate Word was bad for I-AA IMO. I happened to tune in when Chris Fowler mentioned who NDSU was playing, and he literally chuckled. I know most of the CF world doesn't care about I-AA anyway, but it doesn't help when the opponent sounds like a punchline. Have they ever had GameDay from a I-A hosting a I-AA?BisonBacker wrote:I don't know what more can be said on this topic. Some folks just don't understand English. They also made fun of Sam Houston against LSU. You don't make a Heisman pose against Sam Houston St. Good thing they didn't know about the DII loss that was about to happen.89Hen wrote:It was good and bad for I-AA. They had good things to say about Vernon Adams though.
