I don't think anyone is saying that Polony is better than or equal to Robertson, that would be crazy, but like you said, no one really knows if Robertson playing would've made a difference in winning or losing. Certainly didn't help.
Those who are whining are disrespectful toward Polony and the rest of the football team.

Let's say the game hasn't happened yet. We're looking at it as it approaches.
We say we're trying to pick the game. We pick it.
Then after that we learn that Villanova's quarterback who led FCS by a wide margin (there was him then there was everybody else) in passing efficiency, who ran for over 1,000 yards, who threw for 35 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions, and who ran for another 11 TDs isn't going to play.
Is there ANYBODY here who wouldn't say that hurts Villanova's chances of winning a LOT? Anybody?
You all know damned well that if somebody told you that before the game you'd say it really hurts their chances. You'd be an idiot if you didn't.
So why is it SO hard for some people to admit that it SIGNIFICANTLY hurt their chances of winning after it happened?
And I'll go ahead and say it: Any reasonable, objective person who looks at a game that Villianova lost by three points without a player like that would think it likely they'd have won if they had him. No, there's no way you could KNOW they'd have won it because he didn't play. But, I mean, c'mon. This was not just "some player" they lost.

Chris Polony played great. Every Villanova fan I've talked to has said that. At the same time, it's the difference between Steve Young and Steve Bono.

Nobody will expect UNH/ISU to beat them either.
Actually, after watching ISU play at Eastern Washington and seeing what that team has in terms of talent, I would pick ISU to beat North Dakota State. Not with a real high level of confidence, mind you. But if pressed that's what I would do. That team has a LOT of talent, I think.
UNH? No. They don't have the talent ISU does.
