You know, that same USD team had playoff-bound UNI in their sights as well, down only 20-16 with 7 minutes left in the game. They were LEADING then #11 YSU 17-14 with 10 minutes to go in their game. They were down just 30-26 to WIU late in the 3rd quarter and were within 8 of ISU 4 minutes into the 4th quarter of THEIR game. They may not have ended up winning any of those games but USD wasn't the pushover their record makes them out to be.

And if we're going to talk about moral victories (which seems to be what you're doing in the way you phrase USD's game against Montana) why doesn't anyone ever mention the fact that the BSC doormat Weber State gave NDSU all IT wanted early in the season before NDSU finally pulled away with a defensive touchdown?

I'll go with "Most Dominant I-AA/FCS Conference Performance" in a diluted, weak expanded-playoff year.

Expanding from 16- to 20-team playoffs was bad enough -- 24-team playoffs are ridiculous, only exceeded in its insanity by allowing 3-4 teams from a single conference into the Big Show.

The regular season has to mean something. The first round of 'play-in games' is useless. Every team that advanced (with the exception of SHSU) failed to make the Quarters.

FCS will fold soon and we both need to come to grips with the fact our programs will never compete again at this level. I'm just more realistic and mature. You'll get there. Maybe Uterus and Gumbo469 will too, but I doubt it.

You guys don't know what misery is. You're not a fan of the only school to make the national championship game at least twice without ever winning until Sam Houston State did it. And even Sam Houston State fans don't have to deal with losing the first one by 1 after seeing your team's tight end drop a wide open TD pass and seeing your team's defense hold the opponent to 199 total yards then lose the second one by 34-14 to a team your team beat 38-13 during the regular season.

The MVFC only losses were last place USD to Montana and 5th ISUB to Chatty. Regardless of playoffs. Has any conference ever finished a season with only 2 OOC losses?
