Charlie, we could tell you father was a good many, by the way he carried himself on this messageboard. Beyond all the trolling and back and forth smack, Tman was one of the great posters on cs.com. We tried to meet up a few years back, but out scheduled did not allow it. My thoughts and prayers are with him and your family. God Bless TMan.

Had the good fortune to meet Jim once, as an eclectic group of message boarders (chizzang, dback, me, Jim, Griz Goddess, and I believe a couple others) paths crossed and we all were able to meet up at a bar in Tempe, AZ for drinks. Was a hell of a good time, topped off by a scene I'll never forget: At the end of the evening as we were leaving, Jim had us all come to his vehicle as he had gifts for us. He opened the trunk and I shit you not there were 50 different bottles of top shelf booze in there....I'm not sure what everybody else walked away with, but I got a top shelf gin and a high-end bourbon. At that time we were all fairly new to this board, but the man was generous to a fault.Gil Dobie wrote:Charlie, we could tell you father was a good many, by the way he carried himself on this messageboard. And as one of--if not THE--most solid Conks on this board, he will be sorely missed. There'll be a hole in this board for quite some time.
T-Man, my bourbon glass will be raised to you this weekend. RIP, buddy.

I know I speak for the rest of cs.com, and probably most of your family, but don't stop what youre doing. Peace be with you, tman.

I think it really goes to show how our community here is more than just a bunch of pricks arguing (or joking) on the internet. I know many of us have become good friends offline and I think it's a testament to the caliber of people that routinely come here and participate. It's always sad when someone passes and regardless of any trivial quibbling, Jim will be missed.AZGrizFan wrote:Had the good fortune to meet Jim once, as an eclectic group of message boarders (chizzang, dback, me, Jim, Griz Goddess, and I believe a couple others) paths crossed and we all were able to meet up at a bar in Tempe, AZ for drinks. I started out yesterday thinking this might have been an elaborate troll
I still hold out a sliver of hope that Tman will pop up in a few days, but this feels credible / and that wasnt Tman's style anyway (unlike D, who could die publicly on CNN and we would doubt it here on CS)

This is tough to take man, I'm heartbroken.
Cap'n pmd me last night and I was thinking that it was a D1B-style move and that after we all said that yeah he was good peeps to trade barbs with he'd pop up and have a good laugh at us.

Talked to T last week Wednesday. Was going to be in the Carmichael, CA, area and was seeing if he wanted to get together for a drink with a liberal. Left him a message.
Guy calls back in less than 5 minutes and talks with me as if we were long lost friends - no Obama bullsh1t, no Reagan bullsh1t. And I hadn't talked with him in 2 years. Said he was sorry, but he was going to a cabin in the mountains with some friends, but would be down to see me in Vegas in the fall.
His son called me from his phone directory and told me had a heart attack at the cabin.
Wish I met him.
