There was a time where the # of montana fans approached 40% of the total...it's true.

It was not during that game or any game since. (Much the same as their success on the field compared to ours)

In fact, the attitude of montana fans when they found Roos Field tickets harder to come by, resembled this classic painting by Gary Larson...

Yawn. Hope you enjoyed your moment in the sun. As Brent and Jesse so eloquently put it, big boy football is back in Missoula. :coffee:

Just looked it up, less than 9,000. Wow. Our games against Western States Insurance bring in more people than that. :ohno:

See how that works?
So those receivers are the key? Ok.

They played very conservative on D, IMO.
I don't think they played that conservative. Against an air campaign they played nickel and dime all game. They blitzed the LB to get pressure and they caused that fumble by Gustafson. Montana just had better athletes at WR then did NDSU at DB. People have said for years that NDSU just lines up and rams it at you and you have to stop them. Now, people know that Montana will throw the ball and you have to stop them, yet they still ran for over 100 yards. Lets have another case of Alaskan Amber and listen to the wisdom of Rosie O'Donnell....now that's a night.

Hopefully the Bison get Wentz back for the MVC games.

The senior suffered a high ankle sprain in the 38-35 loss to the Grizzlies, although he played the second half on it. Head coach Chris Klieman said Wentz will be re-evaluated next Monday and he'll have a more clear picture then if Wentz will be available against Weber State (Utah) on Sept. 12.

He did not "play the 2nd half" on it. He played the 4th quarter on it. That play was their final offensive play of the 3rd quarter. A quarter in which they scored ZERO points and mustered just 61 yards of offense.

The picture of the injury...Pretty easy to see why Wentz wasn't real effective after that...

As Z pointed out, that happened on the last play of the third quarter, a quarter in which they were less effective offensively than the fourth.

All I have left to say about this game is I hope JSO and BDK enjoyed watching a finesse, hurry up team beat a smash-mouth, 3 yards and a cloud of dust one.
Defense wins championships! Unless of course, it's this year's NDSU defense. :D

There's a time when you're a quarterback and you're sacked...
There are times when you need to just go down and take the next snap

Wentz made a HUGE tactical error by acting like a linebacker instead of a quarterback there on that play

Hell, I was pretty darn impressed by our D's second half performance. Tons of football to be played, obviously, but we may very well have the most complete team in the country.

You have to give kudo's to the Griz defense that was on the field for 35 minutes. Shows great conditioning.

35 minutes, defending 73 plays. NDSU, on the contrary, was on the field for just 25 minutes, but had to defend 92 plays.

I'll take the former all day long as a DC.
