I did kinda feel bad for ISU, but then I realized that they wouldn't be winless if they were able to get it up like this every week.

That, and I despise Idaho State…
Makes you wonder, doesn't it? if they played like that every week, they'd be a .500 team at least (or at least they wouldn't have lost to a D-II. :ohno: :coffee:

Hey Mvem just thought id put this here in preperation for your analysis of this weeks games:

Week 10 - Conference by Conference Breakdown

BIG SKY

Best Performance: Idaho State 10 (#2) Montana 12- The Idaho State Bengals took it to the number 2 Griz all game when NO ONE (not even me) gave them a shot at even coming close to Montana. To the Best team out there on the field today and for fighting against all odds, great job Bengals and way to never give up! :thumb:

Worst Performance: #2 Montana 12, Idaho State 10 - How does a team that averages 38 points per game struggle to put up 12 against a winless Idaho State team that lost to a D-II earlier this year and that had given up (in order) 50, 64, 44, 33, 38, 38, 30, 40 and 41 points in 8 consecutive losses this year. Absolutely horrendous.

I just got off the phone with a buddy that called and said "how the fuck did you know that this was gonna be a close game?!".

Team played like shit and still pulled out of that one. I'd also like to tip my cap to the ISU program. I hope they play with as much heart the last couple of games as they did today. Sorry those guys had to lose but the Griz deserve some credit for playing extremely sloppy on the road against a team that gives them trouble and pulling it out.

Go ahead and drop em' AZ, I can't blame ya but it is par for the course with your way of thinking to have your expectations curiously high and then being disappointed when a group of guys like this has won 41 or the last 42 conference games and then still bitch about the results. Good for you AZ that you can pull all the negative in the world out of a game where the Griz had to really dig deep to overcome a lot of errors that were made in key situations. Good for you. :thumb:

You're a pretty sickening mother fucker sometimes my friend. We weren't the team that we were last week and they weren't the team that lost to CWU. That's THE EXACT fucking reason that comparing who beat who by how much is a fallacious affair.

That'll be most surprising result… ISU lost to UM, so they can't be best (& UM can't be worst).

NAU may get "best" if they keep hanging with Ole Miss.

NoCo is probably gonna get "worst", though PSU is a contender.

If ISU plays like this next week, they'll beat PSU. Who knows if they will, though…

Man, this would have been an upset of epic proportions. Even though they pulled it out... pretty embarassing for Montana.

Idaho State had lost all their games... none of their losses (before facing mighty Montana) were even close.

It's the "digging deep" that'll keep them from free-fallin'. "A lot of errors in key situtations" against an 0-8, completely overmatched and totally demoralized team is NOT my definition of a #1 team in the nation. Hey, the Griz laid an egg today, and got real fuckin' lucky by "digging deep".  This game should have been over by halftime, with lots of 2nd & 3rd string guys gettin' extra reps. Instead, we hang our #1 rating on the foot of Brody McNight?

My "way of thinking" is a hell of a lot more realistic than you, with your head buried in the sand (or up your ass...not sure which). Griz have gone schitzo on us...from their best game in 2-3 YEARS to their worst game in 2-3 DECADES.

Hey, homer....WTF? Did Boise State drive down the fucking freeway and suit up for ISU? Did we switch jerseys with Caroll College? They weren't the team that lost to CWU. They weren't the team that got blown OUT by every fucking team they've played in the past 2 years! How do you explain that? Any given saturday? :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

The Griz have a REALLY bad habit of playing DOWN to their level of competition. And I put that squarely on BH's shoulders....he did NOT have this team ready to play. And that's what's bitten him in the ass every year come playoff time.

There's no doubt that, on paper, ASU's talent was MUCH closer to Michigan's than ISU's was to Montana's. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

In Idaho State's defense, that D-II team is 11-0 and ranked 2nd in Division II and expected to get the #1 seed in Super Region 4 for the playoffs. They are probably the 2nd or 3rd best team Idaho State played all year.

Now, the #2 team in Division II beat Idaho State worse than the #2 team in I-FCS. That is interesting.

Then what's their excuse for their blowout losses to UNC, NAU, Sac State, MSU, EWU and Weber? :ohno: :ohno:

True. I guess it wasn't really a defense of ISU, which has been outclassed by all opponents (except Montana) this year.

Like I said (either here or on a different thread, can't remember) Montana has a BAD habit of playing down to the level of their competition. Their heads were NOT in the game today, and they never reallly did get their heads into the game until the last drive.

Yeah I'm the overly reactionary homer here. I said last Wed. on this board and last weekend to Wedgie that these guys have a good deal of success against us and I wouldn't be expecting anything less than that this time. You see I ain't walking around acting like they can't be beat or even thinking they can't be beat like you seem to. Like I've said before Chicken Little you are the overly boisterous winner and the overly boisterous whiny bitch when things don't go exactly how you expected them to go.

We also nearly lost to ISU is 2001 when they weren't winless but certainly a bottom dweller. they had 4 wins that season, 2 were over NAIA's, 1 spueker over a bad SUU team, and a win over PSU. There was no way they should have been in the game with us but it took an interception run back and another TD to win it at the wire. We, of course were a bad team that year though so it should be expected.

I can see worrying about the problems we had today but being a whiny little bitch that wasn't handed his favorite rattle is what I don't get from you all the time.

I also don't have a bit of an issue if people drop them for this cuz it don't matter to anybody anyhow. They'll be a top 2 seed if they win out. I may jump Villanova or SIU over them myself. :thumb:

You are the guy that has had UM @ #1 when you have had no reason to have them there and you call me the homer.

That's fucking rich. Bitch.

What I thought was extremely entertaining about this game was the way the refs threw the penalty flags!

To me, it looked liked the officials that threw flags were going for distance. Most of the flags I saw tossed went much further than most of Selle's passes!!

I couldn't tell who was undefeated and who was winless in the 2nd quarter. Griz did whatever it took to lose this one. I'm getting sick of the undisciplined penalties they continue to thrive on. Cost Mariani a 70 yd punt return for a TD right in front of me in the 3rd quarter. The Griz escaped. Hope this pulls their heads out from the nether regions.
