I love seeing my family in North Carolina around Christmas, but by Thanksgiving I'm already lamenting the drive down 95. I know I wouldn't make it there. You should see me whine about the traffic HERE. We deal with cars/sp. mile and you guys would have to measure it sq.. footage. My brother married a girl from N. Jersey/Philly area and when we're on the road for hours at a time @ 80-90 mph she marvels at the open nature of the affair while telling turnpike horror stories.89Hen wrote:I love seeing my family in North Carolina around Christmas, but by Thanksgiving I'm already lamenting the drive down 95. I'm ok with giving Frisco a chance not because of some misplaced sense of fairness but because Chatty seems to have been good but not great. I expect Frisco to be good and maybe it can be great.
They won't drive 5 or 6 to go to it so it doesn't matter anyway.

Hell, in my younger days we measured driving in Montana by 6-packs.putter wrote:89Hen wrote: West Coast Bias. Driving 12 hours in the East = 300 miles. Driving 12 hours in the West = 1,000 miles.
How true that is. That is why, in the east you measure driving in minutes, we measure it in miles.....

FYI...
The Southland sent an e-mail blast out that went to their mailing base of people who have subscribed to SLC Now, bought through the SLC Shop, etc...
Hopefully, the numbers on the Frisco site goes up. Can you imagine if they got a commitment of 15-20k through the site? It would be tough for the NCAA to turn down...

Re: The Support Frisco Effort
That's what I'm wondering? If it's just netboys saying they would buy tickets then it's bullshit and has no bearing. If there is an actaual financial committment then OK but people signing up on a site doesn't mean shit to me and it shouldn't to the NCAA.89Hen wrote:A commitment of what?TexasTerror wrote:Can you imagine if they got a commitment of 15-20k through the site? There's no financial committment tied to the pledge of interest, but it does show that people are at least interested. It does require you to put your contact info so its a little bit more accurate at guaging actual interest than a mere online poll.
If the site gets 15,000-20,000 pledged interest it will be a good supplement to the presentation given to the NCAA. Its not their fireworks finale, but it may be a little thing that pushes them over the edge so to speak.

Hell, we have people here guaranteeing a sellout. That should be good enough for the NCAA.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:That's what I'm wondering? I have no clue what kind of interest the game will get there. I'm not one of the "Texas supports FCS football guys" anymore (not that I really ever was to begin with).89Hen wrote:Odds?danefan wrote:If the site gets 15,000-20,000 pledged interest
All I know is that I personally would rather go to Frisco. There's a very good chance I'm going to Frisco next year regardless of the teams if the game is there.
There's a zero percent chance I'm going to Chatty next year unless Albany is in it. (so yes......its still a 0% chance).

Re: The Support Frisco Effort
Ok, that has a bit more teeth. If they get the 15-20K at least, less than 1/2 of those are gonna go when it actually comes down to it. As long as they have a large pool for defections not to matter then it would help them as the local Chattanooga community could never come close to claiming that in the past.danefan wrote:There's no financial committment tied to the pledge of interest, but it does show that people are at least interested. I will buy plane and game tickets. The only reason I wouldn't go is if work prohibited it. No problem Hen. That's my plan as of today. I have personal reasons to go to Frisco besides the game (family in DFW) which makes it a win-win for me. I have no such desire to go to Chatty.
BTW, should I save you a place at the official CS.com pre-game tailgate or post-game party?
Looking like this is the place to have the post-game party at: http://www.lochranns.com/
