1. to BEAT that are in your conference?
In order of importance to me (note to NDSU shits like JaBBer and ipretendtoliveonLAKESBIZUN, this isn't a "rival" list, you aren't that high on my list...this is teams that are fun to beat because of their fanbase/history of beating them):
1. SIU - This is a must W for UNI this year...yeah I'm saying it.
2. YSU - 10 straight over the 'Guins...yet it never get's old
3. NDSU - most of their fans are probably cool as shit, but fans like the ones here (sans TTBF) are fun to watch when they are cornered
4. WIU - closest conference team, great fans to tailgate with
5. South Dakota State - grew up in SDSU/USD territory. Tons of high school friends went to SDSU.
6. Missery State - Love whipping our old coach, and beating down a team that has tons of hype every year, and fails every year...fan base has lots of delusions of grandeur. Only beaten us 5 times in history
7. Illinois State - OSBF is a pretty cool guy to hang out with, regardless his online personality. Just no real football rivalry between the two right now really.
8. Indiana State - only 4 wins against UNI in history, only 1 since 1991 (2002)
2. to SEE FAIL that are in your conference? (another note for jbb and lakes, still not a rivalry list from me)
1. NDSU - again most of their fans are probably cool, but fun to see their interwebs fans explode after every loss and get way to damn high after every win.
2. Youngstown State - your titles are tainted (just like everything SweaterVest ever did)
3. Misery State - see above reasoning
After this it gets tricky
4. South Dakota State - not because I have anything against them, I just don't want them landing some of the Iowa kids from Western Iowa that we normally would
5. SIU - catch 22 as when they are good the games are more fun, but being the only team in the conference I consider a rival seeing them struggle last year was nice.
6. Indana State - last year probaly would have been #8, but the team finally beats a D2 school and wins more than 1 game and their fans think they are the greatest team in the MVFC (their magical 3 day run in basketball doesn't help their position either)
7. Illinois State - no real reason to want them to fail...
8. Western Illinois - see Illinois State, but they are closer to UNI...I guess.
3. to PLAY that are not in your conference?
I would love to say Iowa/Iowa State because it's an instate game, but I really don't like the typically FBS attitudes they carry. I'll go with SUU, since we seem to play them a lot. As for a team I'd love to see a series with, Montana, EWU (due to playoff history), ODU (oddball I know, but seems like it would be a fun game)
4. to BEAT IN THE PLAYOFFS that are not in your conference?
UNH and EWU....
I'd love to finally beat a CAA or Big Sky team in the playoffs other than those two though.
There's some really good posters over there, it's just the two or three turds that kinda put a damper on things.
