The problem is that you said they were top 10, and picked to win the MVFC.

They are not top 10.

And the only poll that has them winning the MVFC at this point was written by some Bison fan, on an NDSU blog.

Do you say this stuff just to hear yourself talk?

Time to put up or STFU. We're fixin' to find out here real quick if you actually beleive the words you are typing.

I'll bet you $100 each on 3 MVFC prop bets.

1) SIU will finish ahead of NDSU in the final conf standings.
2) UNI will finish ahead of NDSU in the final conf standings.
3) NDSU will not finish the year ranked in the top 10 nationally.

What ya think you big talkin' SOB?

I'll bet there are several others here that would want some of this action as well.

I hope you guys realize that there are level headed Bison fans out there. I wish someone would figure out that they are negatively promoting NDSU and give the school and its fans a bad image to fellow FCS fans. You first have to give respect in order to gain respect. Spouting nonsense does absolutely nothing for the program.

We realize it.

But let us have our fun....it's the damed off-season, for God's sake!

Last year we flamesprayed BlackFalkin all year for his outlandish predictions regarding EWU's projected success....turns out he nailed every single one of them and we all had to eat crow. This year, either JBB and lakesbison will be vindicated or continue to be lambasted depending on how the Bison do.

On second thought, they're probably still just be lambasted, but you get my point, no? :coffee: :coffee:

Everything I said is true.
1) NDSU is in the top 10% of the programs in the country
2) NDSU is one of the big elite programs in the country. They score a 23/24 on the elite program registry
3) NDSU is bigger than UNI and SIU in both respects. Certainly arguable if not outright the truth
4) UNI is on the way out as a power. Ok thats a prognostication but all the signs are there: financial problems, fading success, instability in coaching staff with lateral moves becoming more common.

I dont gamble but anyone taking NDSU on those bets will be winner.

UNI did win a conference title in their first year of I-AA football with 5-6 record, so they have at least 16 titles in 30 years, maybe more. :coffee:

You do have a point

1981 -Mid-Continent Conference Co-Champions (one conference loss)
1982 - Mid-Continent Conference Co-Champions (one conference loss)
1984 - Mid-Continent Conference Co-Champions (one conference loss)
1985 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (undefeated in conference)
1987 -Gateway Football Conference Champions (undefeated in conference)
1990 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (one loss in conference)
1991 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (one conference loss)
1992 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (one conference loss)
1993 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (one conference loss)

1996 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (undefeated in conference)
2001 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (one conference loss)
2003 - Gateway Football Conference Co-Champions (One conference loss)
2005 - Gateway Football Conference Co-Champions (two conference losses)
2007 - Gateway Football Conference Champions (undefeated in conference)
2008 - Missouri Valley Football Conference Co-Champions (one conference loss)
2010 - Missouri Valley Football Conference Champions (two conference losses)

So, since UNI joined the D1 ranks (30 seasons) UNI has won 18 conference titles....or for those that like stats, UNI has won their conference 60% of the time. I would bet Montana, and maybe ASU or GSU, are the only other schools that could come close to that type of conference dominance.

The longest UNI has ever gone without a conference title was 4 seasons (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000), but recovered well by winning 6 of the next 10 conference titles.

Oh, the even more staggering stat, is that in those 18 championship seasons, UNI has 14 conference loses.....or .77 losses per season.

Granted, one slip up and those talks go away but there are really good things happening here that the fan base hasn't seen in a while.
3 years: Regular season records of 6-5, 3-8, 7-4. If that's the new definition of building a powerhouse, say hello to Sacramento State.
I didn't say it has been 3 years in the making so far...after last years successes and the outlook of this season and the recruits we have already had committed, there is something that is STARTING to rebuild again. We are going in the right direction.

As many D1 titles as you fuckers got.

Had we stayed D2 for 25 more years, I'm sure we would have gotten a couple as well.

NDSU didn't really start dominating D2 until AFTER UNI left.

UNI left in 81, NDSU won D2 in 83, 85, 86, 88, 90.

Coincidence? I think not.

So did UNI not have football during the time when NDSU won 3 national championships* prior to an actual championship game as well as 2 other regional championships in the 60s to prevent NDSU's success?

UNI easily would have won at least 1 national championship had they stayed (hell, und even snagged one). NDSU should have made the jump after the 1990 season...or soon after because thats when DII started to go to shit where scholarships and funding was taken away. Not sure where the leadership at NDSU was during that lack of decision...

I'll certainly welcome a conference championship at NDSU but if that doesn't happen but playoff success occurs instead, so be it. :coffee:

Hardly dominating the division like you did after UNI left.

Fact is, after UNI left the competition level in D2 dropped, and it became easier for a team like NDSU to dominate. Just like how D2 got weaker when NDSU left.

It's not just coincidence that NDSU all of a sudden became the D2 power they were in the 80's only after UNI left.

I don't remember UNI ever being a DII power. They, like NDSU, were stimulated by Darrell Mudra. :thumb:

16 Big Sky Conference titles during that span (48% of the time)

App State:
D I-AA/FCS since 1982 (29 seasons), Div. I since 1974 (37 seasons) ['74-'77 as "Div. I", '78-'81 as "Div. I-A"]
11 Southern Conference titles during that span [all occuring during the I-AA/FCS tenure] - (38% as I-AA, 30% as Div. I overall)

Georgia Southern:

8 Southern Conference titles during that span (42% of the time)

In the interest of completeness,
Dayton has won 11 conference championships in the 18 year existance of the Pioneer Football League, for a 61% total.

But I think it's safe to say that the PFL isn't quite at the same level as the Gateway/MVFC, Big Sky, or SoCon

 I agree. Its the competition on the national scale that really counts. Bowing out in the first round is not a way to build on a conference title.

1) NDSU is in the top 10% of the programs in the country - MYTH and opinion
2) NDSU is one of the big elite programs in the country. They score a 23/24 on the elite program registry - YOUR mythical "elite program registry", designed and maintained by YOU.
3) NDSU is bigger than UNI and SIU in both respects. Certainly arguable if not outright the truth - not even close to arguable - 15 conference titles in 25 years has UNI. NDSU has ZERO.With regard to the elite program registry this is one of the main factors that will keep UNI around long after their time as an "active power" is over. UNI will remain a big game and an elite program even after the success has gone away. Its the nature of the registry.
4) UNI is on the way out as a power. Ok thats a prognostication but all the signs are there: financial problems, fading success, instability in coaching staff with lateral moves becoming more common. - AGAIN, opinion.

I dont gamble but anyone taking NDSU on those bets will be winner.
