We got 1/4 of the entire field with our five teams, and Towson should have been seeded.

You did not make it, so the CAA is down. I get it Mr. Myopia.

BTW, when you quit scheduling West Chester and Delaware state, then you can talk about creampuff OOC schedules. You truly are an idiot without borders if you feel entitled to rag on ODU's OOC sked when yours is 2 cupcakes (one d2) and a whored out FBS game v. Navy.
Whored out versus Navy? We lose money over a home game going to Navy. We keep that game because it's a pleasant trip for our fans, we win it almost 50% of the time, and it's a nice series against a school with a great academic reputation, unlike the knuckledraggers we have to associate with in the CAA (Richmond and W&M notwithstanding). ;)

Let's see what ODU's OOC looks like: Campbell, Georgia State, Hampton. Nice.

Yes, the CAA is down. Maine, Towson, and ODU are a step down from the CAA powers of previous years (Delaware, Villanova, William & Mary, Richmond). Hell, a mediocre Delaware team had no problem with Towson and ODU this year.

Carry on.

Just wondering, can we wait to see how strong the CAA is this year until the playoffs are over? Like Bilas said, the CAA still has 5 teams in the field....

Fair enough. CAA has had at least two in the semis every year since 2007 and a finalist every year since 2006. That's the expectation.

Absolutely. If Towson, ODU, Maine, etc... win the NC or at least make the finals, then you can say the CAA is on par with where it's been for the past 8 years.

Does your academic prowess explain why you are ending a phrase with a preposition? Try "with which we have to associate" before calling out the academic pedigree of others, Sparky. Mensa awaits.

Also, regardless of the outcomes this weekend I think it says a whole lot about the CAA that they have 5 teams in the 2nd round, even if it turns out to be a "down year". If the CAA is in a down year, what does that say about the other FCS conferences....

And how much money did you leave on the sidelines with your recent lack of season ticket sales, or when your police accosted some young kid with a trumpet and an elderly fan in the stands.

You do need to whore yourself out, because your fanbase support dying. You are on life-support and need those dollars from the Navy game. I am sure West Chester really brought the fans this year...........

OK, I am officially stepping out of Razormode. Hard to be that angry all the time. Fun while it lasted.

Nothing. It's thanks to the past 8 seasons of CAA play in the playoffs that got them 5 teams this year.

Could be. JMU squeaking by the second place OVC team? If the field were 16, the CAA would not have gotten 5 teams in. The NCAA is scraping the bottom of the barrel for 20.

It's pathetic. Seriously, enough is enough.....I've never seen a fan base with a bigger "jealousy complex" which is really sad considering UD actually has a pretty decent history.

But seriously, the constant little petty remarks and snide comments have gotten to a point of ridiculousness. I mean, isn't it bad enough how wrong you guys were about how it would take years for odu to even compete in the caa? Shouldn't you just put the pipe down and say, ok, odu is pretty damn good.
But no, we get thread after thread of pettiness from a fanbase that really should be above all that. Even jmu fans have started to give us credit. But I guess since you guys didn't make the playoffs you have to take your frustrations out on someone.

So be it.
You're fighting with the wrong guy. I've said nothing but complemetary things about ODU. If you have a problem with my fellow UD posters take it up with them. Lumping us all together is pretty stupid.

5 teams are in the last 16 teams left in the country. You clearly know nothing about football.

Taylor Heineke is our QB for the next 3 years......we'll be fine in the CAA for the next few years.....we only lose 8 seniors off this year's team. Delaware, however, will struggle again next year and very well could miss the playoffs.

That W you had against ODU last year when Demarco was still starting? Ain't happening next year sweetheart.

One fans opinion of the ODU-NSU game. Presented for your amusement.

12th man lifted ODU
Re “Crosstown showdown: Monarchs rule,” front page, Nov. 27: What went into the record books as a win was really a sham and a disgrace to competitive college sports. This game was equivalent to two boxers competing in the ring with one of them blindfolded.
On nearly every offensive play by Norfolk State, the crowd noise was so high that it drowned out the play-calling. The team simply couldn’t hear the plays. This was not the case when Old Dominion had the ball. You could hear a pin drop when they were on offense. This partisan behavior by ODU fans was reprehensible by design and should be considered a shameful act to control the outcome. The results should be thrown out due to unsportsmanlike conduct by the fans.
