I do expect App. to have some good rushing yards. Hell have all of them that you want as long as the points are tough to come by. With a decent rushing team last time you guys were herre you got 36 yds. on 37 tries. I'm pretty sure you guys will have 200+ this time with Mooremanti back there.HAPPYAPPY wrote:66.58 – Average rushing yards allowed by Richmond, before giving up 228 rushing yards at home to App State
77.1 – Average rushing yards allowed by Elon, before giving up 205 rushing yards at home to App State
87.3 – Average rushing yards allowed by Montana this season
With the running attack of Devon Moore and Armante Edwards, Montana should fall like a heard of Buffalo - errrr ahhhhh - Grizzlies.

Re: Semi Final Game #2: Appalachian State @ Montana Game Thread
Does this game really matter, really?!? The prospect of playing William and Mary or Villanova seems pretty daunting at this point. Clearly, the CAA has been the best conference in recent years, and I look for them to have their third championship banner come next weekend. Actually, I'll say that the State of Virginia should have its third National Championship.
Montana, who by the way had the easiest path courtesy of the NCAA to the finals (say it with me $$$$), and Appy St., how much longer can thyey ride the coattails of the MIchigan win?, just cannot compare to the schedule that CAA teams play week in and week out.
Sorry to rain on your parade.

Well, lets see if this proves anything. I doubt it will, but App seems to think they are the only team that scores at will. You gave up/scored basically everyone's average. Richmond generally scores 30 and you gave up 30. You normally score 35 you scored 35. We normally score 38. I say we get there.

Now, App did score 35 on a D that gives up 16. So you can score, even against elite D's. I promise you, the GRIZZZ D may give up yards, but points are what matters. See those teams around App in terms of D, yeah, we HANDLED those defenses (yes I know its only an average difference of 4 points, is that what you want to lose by?). So while I do think App will score against us, if they think they can stop us, they're dreaming. This could be a high scoring game, but the GRIZZZ are a touch better. Our offense IS THAT good. Much like AE, we force teams to pick their poison, run/pass successfully until time runs out. AE is a great player with a good, solid team around him; Selle is a good, solid QB with a great team around him. Which would you rather have? I'm sure you'd take yours and I'd take mine (although, I'd love to have AE), but I think overall, we are a little better. I think the final score will show that.

Lanston Tanyi our left DE apparently tore him MCL in a noncontact punt coverage drill at the end of practice today.
Demery Brewer is his backup, I believe. He can play well... but, he doesn't have much size. He'll be giving up almost 100 pounds on whoever is blocking him. I'd expect Montana to do a lot of running right at him Saturday. We need some guy to STEP UP.
BEAT MONTANA!!!!
Just wondering about where you heard this about Tanyi. I can't find any reports of him getting hurt in the practice and nothing was mentioned on Around The Mountain about it.

Great post. Another fan of a team that sucks rooting for his conference. So, what you're saying is the CAA will finally equal the amount of titles won by Appalachian State, or half the titles won by Georgia Southern...gotcha. Appalachian doesn't have to ride the coat tails of the Michigan win, ASU just beat Richmond and is 9-2 in the playoffs against CAA competition. What else you got?silly fresh wrote:Does this game really matter, really?!? The prospect of playing William and Mary or Villanova seems pretty daunting at this point.
