This was the Wofford game all over again. Nova starts running over UM, so what does Kraig Paulson do? He keeps putting DBs 10 yards off the line of scrimmage most every play.

You are correct. Villanova won the CAA last week. Tonight was just a formality.

Both these teams deserved to be here. Nobody won the CAA, they don't have a championship game. Villanova got here, not the CAA. They are just from the CAA. The conference won't win this, this team will.

I like Nova and I like Montana but the CAA **** is as bad as the Big 12 crap. There is no real CAA Champ - just one with a better record. (most years anyway and this is probably not stated as intended)

nova/W&M would have beaten the Griz or Appy because neither of your teams could stop a good running team...and Talley wasn't about to go away from the run.

nova smoked Montana in the second half. Hell, if they had not tossed that lazy INT in the first half or snapped that ball high near the end it would have been a lot worse.

Great adjustments on both sides of the ball by nova during the half. nova shut down the Griz O in the second half and nova would have scored at will if the game had gone longer.

So much for the west coast scoring...and lack of O by the CAA teams.

Even bigger congrats to the Villanova o-line. Terrific isolation replay of Ijalana and the tight end sealing the Griz defense on one of Sczur's late runs for a first down. The TE actually blocked two guys on that play. These games are usually won in the trenches, and Nova was just better up front on both sides of the ball.

As to the "conference" issue, Talley made it clear after the game that facing CAA competition every week prepares a team for the post season. The Montana o-line, and Chase Reynolds are formidable foes, but it was nothing new for the Wildcats.
