Here's the flaw in your logic (well, ONE of the flaws, as there are MANY!!!): You yourself claim that the round-robin method of playoff success in the CAA is bred by the difficult competition spawned within the conference itself. Thus, UD and JMU already HAD their shot, and won't be back on top of the conference and back in the title game until it's gone through Maine, Rhode Island, UNH, Towson, W&M, Georgia State, and Hofstra.

So, here's a compromise: Let's move the game to Frisco for the nexst 7 years, since those 7 teams won't be sending any fans to the game anyway. Then Chatty can have it back when UD's and JMU's turn in the hopper comes back around. That way, Montana won't have so far to fly in each of those six years.

There are no flaws in your logic because, well, there is no logic. UD's been to the NC twice in the 2000's. UD, VU, JMU, UMass, UR, UNH... will ALL get to the NC before any other of your conference mates. You do know your Vandals aren't in the Big Sky anymore... don't you?

Since the inception of 1-AA a total of 5 current FCS teams west of the Mississippi not named Montana have made the title game, only ONE of those have made it in the last 20 years (McNeese in 2002).

The only reason this NC location situation has come about is due to the recently frequent appearances of Montana in the NC game. Up until 1995, when MT defeated Marshall for the NC, the FCS NC was pretty much eastern-oriented. Now, with MT defeating AppSt in the semifinal, the point of the rise of the West is even stronger. That's my take on moving the NC game further west. It seems the NC game has now evolved into a contest between an eastern & a western team. If a reclassification by the NCAA has MT & even MT State "moving up," all bets are off. None of us knows for sure what the FCS will look like after a reclassification, even if there will be a FCS as we know it.

Personally, I'm neutral re: moving the NC game out of Chattanooga. On the Grizzly board, there is a split between Chattanooga & Frisco. I know many Griz fans have enjoyed experiencing a taste of the South in Chatanooga, and I don't mean to be condescending in saying this. Chatanooga (I've never been there) seems to be a place Montanans enjoy. Everything, including the stadium, is within walking distance. And, I bet there are many places in Chatanooga many Montanans have patronized for several years, so it's a familiar, homey place to many of them, much like Missoula. It's a difficult call & I imagine it will all come down to money.

GrizMM, it has very little to do with the fact that Montana has made the game so often. It has everything to do with money as you ended the post with. I love Chatty and don't want to see it move just to try something different but there are some possible advantages to it that have been laid out in this thread as far as SW Airlines possibly making it less expensive to get there for the teams involved. If that is true then I'm for it moving. If it's not on the table then it doesn't make a difference between the two sites as we have to get on a plane either way and the cost difference to getting there is not significant. I know that on egriz there are some very myopic souls that think that these decisions are made because of the Griz but that is just not true and is an ego inflation type thing.
