Future of FCS
Re: Future of FCS
According to reports, the Big10 and Texas have reached out to one another about possible expansion. With this said, one thing is for sure, the next 2-3 years are going to make college football change a lot IMO.

That's not entirely true. The Big Ten has had preliminary talks with them, which the Big Ten initiated. Reality is though, that the Big Ten has done that with a number of schools, and will continue to do so.TBirdz wrote:According to reports, the Big10 and Texas have reached out to one another about possible expansion. Re: Future of FCS
I agree with you. I am not necessarily saying that Texas is going to the Big10. I ultimately don't think they will. I think the more likely situation is that Missouri goes to the Big10 over all of the other BigEast candidates (I don't think PennSt wants Pitt in their conference). I think Utah and Colorado/BYU goes to the Pac10. If it's Colorado to the Pac10, I think BYU takes their spot in the BigXII. I would like to say that TCU would be the other candidate to replace Mizzou but I'm not sure if that's necessarily true. Is it possible that Arkansas would leave and reunite with old SWC rivals in the BigXII? If so, I think that the SEC goes after either GaTech, Clemson, or WVU.
The main point I am trying to make is that I believe the next 2-3 years has a lot in store for the landscape of college football as we know it today. You are going to see the ACC, SEC, Big10, BigXII, and PAC10 all with 12j schools. So what does the BigEast do, expand to 12? The MtnWest? With these conferences all potentially adding members from "lower" conferences, what ultimately happens with the WAC, CUSA, SunBelt, and MAC? Anyway you look at it we are going to see a major overhaul IMO. If all of these conferences are disected and picked apart, they are going to have to look at the top FCS programs to fill those voids. With these teams moving up, the FCS will not be the same FCS we know today.
With all this said, this is why I am in favor of a major reclassification though I know that possibility will likely never happen.
