Horseman, sounds like you might as well have a kid on the team...and apparently he had a bad experience. Tarnishing a good coaches name and reputation doesn't seem fair...for whoever looks at this site. And last time I checked no player is guaranteed any playing time when playing college ball. But life isn't fair, and everyone has the right to say whatever the feel... I hate to hear of your GWU player (son, brother, cousin, friend, whoever) and his bad experience, but maybe its something he and Doolittle could work out in a sit down heart to heart. Im sure Doolittle would being willing, Id even be willing to mediate. For now me and my psychology degree from GWU must get some work done.

haha alright, I will end my complaints. It seems I have no idea what I am talking about and you are the man that does. Sorry I hurt your feelings about you beloved coach. He was a good coach but did not treat people the right way in my opinion that he did not like, regardless if you like someone you should still treat them as a person.

Also the kid that was a senior I was talking about started on the offensive line the year before doolittle took over and then he never saw the field. Doolittle would say he had no one he could trust behind his starters to put in. So my question is how can a kid that started the year before not be worthy of playing? Just a question I was wondering about.....

But I wont say anymore unless I am asked about it so everyone can now celebrate our new coach.

I dont know much about Steve Patton but i did hear from so many of the players and they said he treated players differently based of race, was a very vulgar guy around all the players and was just flat out rude. Gardner-Webb doesn't have time for any mess like that.

Doolitle was a bit old school....to the point, matter of fact, dedicated, hardworking, honest, and very knowledgable. Whats wrong with a good old school coach?

Nothing wrong with it all, in fact I prefer it. However you can be an old school coach and still treat people with respect. That is all I am saying, best player should play but the rest are still busting their butts at practice hoping to get on the field and to treat them wrong is not right.

Good luck to Coach Pizzo and staff. Since many schools throughout the country use the offense Coach Pizzo developed, I'm sure his prospects for the future will be bright.

Well would it surprise anyone that you have not heard from GWU?! It is Ron Dickerson. Maybe some admin changes are in order after this cluster. We have all the Big South Conf. laughing there @#*% off at Gwu. Ron has his work cut out for him.

Right after Patton was sacked, a university employee deeply entrenched in academia at GWU told me that Bonner had expressed rather emphatically that the hire SHOULD be a minority. Ron Broadway, currently the HC at Grambling was approached but did not express an interest. Dickerson has good credentials. Let's hope he can get us on the right path.

Not sure where the info came from regarding Coach Dickerson. The players have not been told anything yet. Further, it now seems that GW has been turned down a second time highlighting my previous concern that the candidates are telling our administration that they need to spend more money on our football program than they are willing to spend. I don't think our excellent adventure is quite over with.

Sad that the players have no clue. Mine was waiting for an announcement and a meeting but gave up. Now he's headed home for the weekend. Hope it's not a situation where he reads about it before he hears it from the school. It's fine to take your time but please :ohno:

What a cluster fuck.

Nothing official yet from any source. Friday's on campus normally involve faculty meetings, could that be why there is a delay? It's almost like their is some sort of unofficial gag order in place.

I hate to think that offer #2 to Sanders got turned down. I'm with elcid, the financial end, either contract or financial commitment to the program, is the problem.

And let's not get into the massive can-of-worms that is hiring someone, or not hiring someone, based on race as any part of the criteria.

Well if they wanted an African American why was Ron the "3rd" choice and the only African American they interviewed?

I don't know that Ron Dickerson was the 3rd choice. I don't know that there has been a third choice. I do know that the players were told last night that the coach would be announced today. But, there has been no announcement yet.
