The cops here are a pretty good lot and like anywhere there are a few that may not have the patience that they should. Hey dickhead, I'm in the military, have served for 15 years, and have no intention of joining the police force when I retire. And unless you have served, you aren't qualified to judge the character of the people that fill its ranks. While some of what you say about the military being a welfare system for some may be true, I can say the same thing about a lot of Federal employees - which is what people in the military are. Ok buddy, I'd like to see you come to where I work and see what people's opinions of that are. I have never met more people with upstanding moral character than I have during my time in the service. Furthermore, some of the most intelligent people I have ever met have been during my time spent in the military.

As far as people in the military being "brainwashed" - generalise much? I'm fairly certain that I'm able to formulate my own opinions about things without someone else telling me what I should or shouldn't think. In fact, due to the life experiences that I've had primarily due to my being in the military, I'd be willing to guess that I've been exposed to a lot more things that give me a little more insight and perspective on the world than someone like you who has probably seen very little of the world outside their own little bubble.
