Your defense is bailed out by the offense. At least they get off the field for half the game.

This is true, but at least it's nice to have an offense.

I'll spare you the embarrassment of posting the teams against whom the butterflies have racked up those numbers. :kisswink:

Well, let's see how the rank of the offenses each school has/will play through their respective first six weeks stack up against each other, from lowest to highest:

ODU:
#4, #18, #31, #52, #60, #78

Montana:
#8, #16, #30, #67, #87, #90

Georgia State isn't *that much* worse than Idaho State, FWIW.

Using the Sagarin Rankings (instert the fuck the computer comments here) GSU is 226 with a 32.98 score and Idaho State is 222 with a 33.71 score...

Robert Morris - 225
PVAM - 235

With USD (169) and Missouri State (189) still to come as well.

also @App State, @Eastern, and home against NAU, who has one of the best backs in the country. Considering we have exactly one senior starting on defense, I think they're holding their own.

2013 schedule so far:

@ North Carolina
@ Maryland
@ Norfolk State
Charlotte

rumored:
@ East Carolina
The Citadel

The Citadel is scheduled to play @ ECU next year, but rumblings are that ECU will replace the game with ODU and The Citadel will play @ ODU instead for the same paycheck.

My favorite part:
Saturday’s victory came a week after Villanova drubbed the Monarchs in Norfolk, and Wilder challenged his team to do some soul-searching.

That occurred at 6:45 Tuesday morning, when the team held a meeting in which coaches weren’t allowed to attend.

“They felt like they got some things out that felt like the team needed to address,” Wilder said. “They came up here with attitude and a mindset that we were going to play much better than we did last week.”

Saylor would not say what was discussed in the meeting, but the results were apparent, he said, in how hard the Monarchs played.

Just a nice short story:
Old Dominion football coach Bobby Wilder has read Bill Curry’s book, “Ten Men You Meet in the Huddle.” He’s watched Curry’s news conferences online to use as a model for how to handle himself in front of the media.

So when Wilder’s Monarchs manhandled Georgia State 53-27 on Saturday at the Georgia Dome, Wilder said there was a sense of sadness along with elation.

Curry, the 70-year-old Georgia State coach, is retiring after this season. Saturday’s loss, which dropped the Panthers to 1-9, was Curry’s last home game.

“The difficult thing is to watch him go out this way, to see him at 1-9, to see it end like this,” Wilder said. “He’s one of the good guys in this profession.”

Old Dominion vs. the Old Dominion.

vs. VMI 2-0
vs. W&M 2-1
vs. Hampton 3-0
vs. Norfolk St. 1-0
vs. JMU 2-0
vs. Richmond 2-0

That's a 12-1 record.

Count your blessings that you didn't play us Liberty.
