I'm sorry, but watching that pathetic excuse for an offense, I just don't know how much we can associate with the Eagles D and how much with that inept offense.kalm wrote:I'm sorry for beating Idaho. I really am.
Padron needs some work, but the D was impressive, and running it down their throats the last 4 or 5 plays of the final scoring drive bodes well.

NAU did manage to score a TD against Arizona State. Missed the PAT however.
42-6 now, 8 mins left in the 3rd.
Sidenote: Great job, Eagles. Took down Idaho.

Don't think I saw it posted:
UC Davis 41
Azusa Pacific 3
We'll take a win even if it is over D-II APU. Could be a long year.

Re: Thursday August 30th Score Thread
Just got back from work where I was able to watch the Utah State vs. SUU Game, a few thoughts:
-Utah State is a very good team this year, easily better then their team last season. They have some potent weapons on offense and their defense is very good, their secondary needs to get better though, had 8 pass interception calls during the course of the game.
-Our secondary is going to need alot of work, was 21 to nothing in the first quarter but for the rest of the game we did a better job of containing their offense. Also tackling should be foremost in the coaches minds this week, alot of drives would have been stopped if we could have wrapped up.
-Sorensen had a shaky start but he soon got into his rythm and was tossing balls all around the field, the WR's made some spectacular catches, his INT on his stats came of a last second toss before time expired into the endzone so not really a legitimate turnover.
-Our running game was not really a factor in this game but I do like what I saw out of Henna Brown, there is alot of hype around him and I can see why.
-Defensively besides our secondary needing work we had some great plays, especially from the defensive line and linebacker core.
Overall we looked a little sloppy but there were enough flashes of talent throughout the game that I feel comfortable when we start to play other FCS teams, not at all looking forward to Cal next week..

Ouch.
Honestly, in this game it's EWU that looks like they have the depth. Idaho players are sucking wind, hands on hips...asses dragging....

It was only 21-0 when he went down, and he was hurt throwing a block. And, watching the game, they didn't really run up the score. SD Mines was just that bad (they went winless last year and they lost 70-0 to a DII team).frinq wrote:Do these UND injuries say something about running up the score?

Plus UND had very long runs, you just can't kneel the ball down 3 times and punt on every drive. Its not UND's fault that their defense sucked all night. I just hope we can put 66 on PSU. (not holding my breath on that though)Hambone wrote:It was only 21-0 when he went down, and he was hurt throwing a block. And, watching the game, they didn't really run up the score. Re: Thursday August 30th Score Thread
Towson abandoned the run some where around Wednesday. Opened with 5 passes before even giveing West a chance. Thats a shitty way to start as an o-lineman. That said the line never got a chance to establish running and looked like shit. I would not want to be a player these next two weeks before W&M. Their asses are going to be running quite a bit.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."

Azusa Pacific is in their first year in the GNAC in Division II. But, they had regularly played GNAC opponents for years anyway.Grizalltheway wrote:Aren't they NAIA, or did I miss them moving up?SoCalAg wrote:Don't think I saw it posted:

Thanks. Carroll used to play them in the playoffs regularly, but I guessed I stopped paying attention after I left Helena.Mike Johnson wrote:Azusa Pacific is in their first year in the GNAC in Division II. Re: Thursday August 30th Score Thread
You'll find out next week vs. WSU. Our D is MUCH improved over last year. I thought Idaho scored TD on that early possession, but then again I was pretty inebriated, and didn't realize that TJ Lee had pushed him out of bounds before he landed in the endzone.AZGrizFan wrote:I'm sorry, but watching that pathetic excuse for an offense, I just don't know how much we can associate with the Eagles D and how much with that inept offense.kalm wrote:I'm sorry for beating Idaho. 2002 McNeese beat UL-Monroe. 2007 McNeese beat UL-Lafayette. 2012 McNeese beat Middle Tenn. Guess it will be 5 more years before we get another Sunbelt team to schedule us again. Dagnabit!
