I believe the week after the last home game with W&M they will dismantle the temp bleachers and soon move in construction trucks and cranes in the area where the temp bleachers are in order to begin the construction process for the 2nd deck, luxury suites, press box, new lighting, and permanent seats in the west endzone. If those temp bleachers were permanent they would have to drive those trucks and cranes onto the edge of the field, which would destroy it and would mean would have to get new field turf or whatever they call it, and that stuff aint cheap...

"JMU: It'll Be Ready Bourne Says Bridgeforth On Schedule"
JMU's AD Jeff Bourne:
"......As expected, Bourne said construction on the second phase of the renovation will mean JMU can't host any Division I-AA playoff games on campus this season.
"We are not going to have a playoff game here. It's just not going to work out," he said.
Bourne said the university was considering bidding to host a first-round playoff game the weekend of Thanksgiving. If it had done so, however, that would have cost JMU two weeks of construction because the Dukes end the regular season on the road on Nov. 20.
JMU prefers to begin work immediately after the final home game, Nov. 13 against William & Mary.
Matthews said those extra days could prove important if the area gets another snow-filled winter.
"It's not like I'm an expert on construction, but you realize they'll have to work up high on the upper deck this winter," Matthews said. "When the weather gets bad, they're going to have to stop."
And those two extra weeks, Bourne said, could help assure JMU is ready for opening day in 2011.
Bourne earlier said JMU might seek to host a playoff game at another nearby football facility. Tuesday, Bourne said he had not contacted VMI or the University of Virginia about hosting a playoff game at their fields, though he said that could still be an option.
