GOOD LUCK EAGLES
I don't think ODU has the defense to stop the Eagles offense. GSU 35, ODU 24

When UD beat GSU last year.. the play (tackling) of the Hen's secondary was key. UD had excellence DBs last year and they played the option very well. This year's new UD secondary was at a loss vs Navy's option and as a result the Hens never had a shot at Navy. ODU may be able to slow the GSU fullback game.. but if ODU's DBs aren't up to the task.. it will be a long day for their defense.

I wish to god those timeouts before the half would have came back to bite Wilder on the ass.

Yeah, I'll admit I was kind of wondering what the heck he was doing but he's an aggressive coach and it's in his nature. Don't forget the two 4th-down conversions on their own side of the field.dreamcatcherTattoo wrote:I wish to god those timeouts before the half would have came back to bite Wilder on the ass.

As for your team, Holy crap. You're going to be good for a while. There have to be some FBS scouts wondering how they passed on Heinicke. The kid has tremendous skills. As for the arguments as to which defense would be ready for the completely different offenses they would each face. The answer was obviously neither. It was a great game to watch but I am glad we could pull that one out.

WM's Laycock did the very same thing to us last year and it was a mind play, I didn't think much of it either time.dreamcatcherTattoo wrote:I wish to god those timeouts before the half would have came back to bite Wilder on the ass.

We were bare in the DB position, we even took two true freshmen who hadn't even played a down to Statesboro. We also took our best receiver Nick Mayer and move him to DB for this game. It was our weakest position going into this game.ChickenMan wrote:When UD beat GSU last year.. the play (tackling) of the Hen's secondary was key. "ODU's secondary, particularly the cornerback positions, has been fraught with injury and illness.
Junior T.J. Cowart sustained a season-ending arm injury in the second week of the season. Sophomore Aaron Evans is doubtful for Saturday with a knee strain. Erik Lewis, the team's leader in interceptions with five, sustained a thigh contusion Saturday and is questionable. And Reggie Owens is sidelined with mononucleosis."
Also "ODU may have lost yet another defensive back on Thursday. This time, it's Markell Wilkins, who has developed the same stomach flu that ran through the men's basketball team earlier this week."
