Meh. Our defense is exactly what you would expect from a 4 year old program that also runs a no huddle offense (more possessions to defend).
The reason for the success was the surprising #1 offense.

Re: Georgia Southern @ Old Dominion
Wilder fired his DC last year after GSU had 602 total yards of offense. This year GSU rushed for 602 against the new DC's gameplan, and now this guy may be gone too. Good news for ODU's next DC. He won't have go face GSU and find himself out of a job the next day.

Re: Georgia Southern @ Old Dominion
The current DC has a history with a local high school that has significant representation on our roster. He may be reassigned but won't be fired. Wilder has endorsed his scheme since the offseason.
It's the players.
It's the players.

I will chuckle profusely if ODU's first bowl game is against the Sunbelt's own Georgia Southern University.

Yes, but the difference this time will be that it will be played in the illustrious Idaho Potato Bowl.93henfan wrote:I will chuckle profusely if ODU's first bowl game is against the Sunbelt's own Georgia Southern University.
