I think that UNH's playoff appearance streak is in jeopardy!
Watching repeat of the JMU-Villanova game.Daniel Brown is a good WR for JMU excellent size 6-5 220 caught a td pass.
He's tall but he's also slow. Decent enough WR, but limited because of the lack of speed.

Yet another dal post that defies reality.

How's that tall QB of yours working out...has he replaced Heinickie yet?

Actually, I'm scared sh**less! We have largely under achieved the last few years even though the talent level has been pretty high. Micky Matthews, thanks for the championship in 2002 ( or was it 04'? ) but you are officially on the hot seat.
As stated before your Dukes have a nice WR core with Daniel Brown 6-5 220 a redshirt junior the NFL will come calling next yr.
Yep. Probably his 2nd best game was against VU, 8 receptions for 94 yds, 1 TD. He also uncharacteristically dropped a 20 some yd pass.

His best game was against Albany- 5 receptions, 86 yds, 3 TDs.

Tied for the CAA lead in receiving TDs with 6.

1. Stephen Barnette.... RICH JR 9 54 857 3 37 15.9 95.2

10.Tre McBride......... W&M JR 9 42 540 4 40 12.9 60.0

Former walkon that was redshirted. He was listed at 6'3"/190 on JMU's 2010 roster. A real late bloomer. Was starting last yr as an rSo when he went down for the season on the 1st offensive play of the game against WVU @ Fed Ex. Then he missed almost all of summer camp with a hamstring injury, which hurt his development with Birdsong the JMU QB. Probably wasn't 100% till sometime in Sept.

Besides being 6'5"/220 also has huge hands, a plus for the next level.

And so was Brian Finneran. In the NFL was llisted at 6'5"/210, a similar size, a little lighter than Brown. Undrafted out of Villanova because "he was slow" in terms of NFL WR speed. Looked up his combine 40 time and was listed at 4.65...

According to a poster on the JMU board he was clocked at 4.56 at JMU his Fr yr (when granted he was much smaller). But he's probably in the 4.6 ballpark. He might not be drafted, but if he stays healthy, he'll be in someone's camp in 2015...

Dude, stop it. Did you see Finneran play? Are you honestly saying this guy is anywhere close to Finneran in terms of skill? Finneran was infinitely better than this kid - heck, you do recall Finneran won the Payton Award, correct? This guy won't even make first team all-CAA, let alone be the best player in the nation at the FCS level. Finneran had size, better speed, and skill. This kid is tall. He's a nice option as a WR at the FCS level, but he's not going to be playing Sunday's in the future.

100% agree. I've seen both these guys play. Comparing to Finneran? Size-wise you can say that but skill sets are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Wow. Just wow. And I hate Nova with a seething passion but wow. I guess Daequon(sp) Scott is Brian Westbrook too? :tothehand: :tothehand: :tothehand: :tothehand:

Yes I saw Finneran play.

Winning the Payton means absolutely nothing in terms of whether or not a I-AA player is going to make it in the NFL, or even get a look. Heck, as a UD fan of all people you should know that. Wasn't Flacco not even a finalist for the Payton in 07'? Yet he was a 1st round draft pick. Jayson Foster, the GSU QB who won the Payton in 07', got cut by the Dolphins and ended up in the CFL..

Winning the Payton doesn't mean you're the best player in the nation in I-AA. Its just means you're a QB/RB/WR who won a popularity contest...same goes with the Heisman..

I don't think Finneran had better speed. Finneran was SLOW in terms of NFL WR speed. 4.65 combine time. That's why he was UNDRAFTED in 98'.

Sure he had a better skill set his Jr yr in 96' than Brown as a Jr now. And if Brown stays healthy I bet he will make 1st team All CAA next yr, and while likely undrafted, will be in someone's camp in 2015.

Oh BS..

And no, Westbrook was superior to Finneran coming out of college for his respective position (Westbrook 3rd round draft pick, Finneran undrafted), and was far superiorfor his respective position in the NFL. Finnernan was on the practice squad for Seattle, on the Barcelona Dragons of the World League or whatever the f they called it back then, a season with the Eagles, and a decade with the Falcons where he started a few seasons. Westbrook as you well know had multiple pro bowls and All Pro and in his prime in the mid 200os was one of the top RB in the NFL.

Daequon probably won't be in any NFL camps. Probably has a shot at the CFL.

Finneran's stats his JR year (11 games): Rec: 78 Yds : 1,151 TD's: 8
Finneran's stats his SR year (11 games): Rec: 74 Yds: 1,151 TD's: 17
Brown's stats his JR year (8 games): Rec: 34 Yds: 548 TD's: 6

So unless he throws up double digit receptions and about 200 yards per game in his last 3 games, Brown's not getting anywhere close to Finneran's production. And heck, have you looked at all of the Jr's in the CAA at WR that are above Brown in the statistical rankings? Johnson from UD, Wilkins from Towson, Barnett from Richmond, McBride from W&M - Brown's probably a long shot to make first team all-CAA next year considering all those guys are back plus whoever pops up from the Fr and So ranks.

Like I said, he's a nice WR, and he's tall. He's not an NFL player. Not even close.

Shawn Bradley was tall. "You can't coach tall".

Yikes! Flacco took his team to the finals. He was on everyone's radar as an NFL QB. He had a huge arm and he had the body of an NFL QB to boot. So now we have compared this average receiver to Flacco and FInneran! OMG. You know, sometimes when you write something too fast and furious to get it right it is no crime to admit you over stated your point or used a poor analogy. God knows we all do it on this forum.

????
Delaware is 7-3 (won 3 of last 4)
JMU is 6-4 (lost 2 of last 3)
UNH is 5-4 (won 4 of last 5)
Nova is 5-5 (lost 3 of last 4)

Delaware clearly has a more impressive record than the other 3.

As for impressive wins,
Delaware has beaten JMU and Towson
JMU has beaten Nova
UNH has beaten Nova and JMU
Nova has beaten W&M and Towson

Combine the records and the good wins with the recent streak of how the team is playing and I have to agree with the order given by henfan. While Nova has beaten W&M and Towson, they lost to JMU and UNH and are on a downward trend lately. Could this change? sure but as of today, it's right.

Can't ignore the bad beat downs Delaware has had. They have been run off the field three times now. . Towson away and W&M wins are clearly superior for nova. While nova was playing bc and Fordham Delaware was playing Jax state and Wagner. I appreciate you trying to console the hen fans. Classy. But you should take a look at the schedules. Check the sagarin ratings too. No comparison here.

Man, your butthurt from being eliminated from playoff contention last weekend is strong.

And Sagarin?

Lastly, you use the transitive property for Nova yet ignore the one where you lost to JMU who lost to Delaware. OOPS!!!

Delaware state? Wagner? Albany? Jacksonville? If you didn't have 7 wins you should be division 2.

So have you figured out how you're going to spend Thanksgiving Saturday now that Nova was eliminated from playoff contention on Halloween weekend? You've had plenty of time to plan.
