RMU QB is not keeping his head in the game now. He's just throwing the ball to throw and try to make something happen.

RMU's D is gassed. Give them a rest there O. :ohno:

Still have no idea what you are talking about. Welcome to the Big Sky baby!

You're just lucky they didn't call a safety on NDSU on that one.

on the last bison kickoff there was a hit along the sidelines by ndsu that was a definite hit out of bounds... they don't call that... how the hell do you big sky fans deal with this every week?

It's not their fault, they really have no idea what they're doing.

I'm thinkin' about moving west and doing something new with my life, but I haven't secured a job yet. However, this reffing Big Sky games sounds like a pretty sweet gig. I have no experience in coaching or reffing football, very few years actually playing, and a basic understanding of the rules. I don't like to run, and am pretty slow to notice things happening around me. I have no clue what a horse collar is but I'm assuming it involves horse racing. Do you guys think I'm qualified?

Can you randomly signal a safety at an inappropriate time?

If you know the diff between in-bounds and out-of-bounds I'd say yes.

I think you can do it, but the competition is tough.

Just go to the Home Depot on Saturday morning, when a guy pulls up, and says I need seven, jump in the back of his truck as quick as you can.

They should be able to get you all the training you need on the way to game.

Good luck.

I don't know what a safety is.
jd of de wrote:If you know the diff between in-bounds and out-of-bounds I'd say yes.
Out-of-bounds is when you're in the rectangle on the field. For example, if someone gets hit in the rectangle by a defender, I should throw a flag because it was an out-of-bound late hit. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Wanna make sure everything goes well with the application and interview processes.

Also, congrats NDSU. :thumb:

I understand. My post was about a call earlier this year against UM. The UM kick returner caught a kickoff as it was sailing out the back of the endzone. His momentum carried him out the back of the endzone, but yet, the Big Sky officials call him for the safety.

They eventually got reprimanded by the conference for making up a call.

A shout out to Kevin, Jen, Scott, Dan and the tailgate crew. It was a surreal experience. The entire lot was setup with camps. Grills were serving as fires. The place was rockin with music and talk and cheering. Temp was low 30s no wind. The only ones not dressed for the weather were the young guys. They were wrestling in the snow. As it began to get dark and the kickoff was approaching the NDSU cheer begain to get louder and spread: Here we go Bison Here we go. The game excitement was building.

Ive never seen the Fabulous Fargo Dome like that. Ive probably seen 100 football games in there. Nothing was as electric as that crowd and the building.

1) RMU brought game. Great team. Well coached. They didn't win but they earned respect. The game was much closer than the score indicated.

2) There are many traditions here in North Dakota that you will begin to understand over time. You are going to be seeing a lot of the NDSU BISON. The BISON are in accent.

3) The NDSU Football Conglomerate extends a warm greeting to the Montana State Bobcats, their fans, friends and community.

4) THE MARCH IS ON!!!!
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Great job by RMU. Here's some postgame quotes from RMU head coach Joe Walton:
Opening statement...
I thought it was a good football up until the last eight minutes. They're a very good team. They're big and strong and fast. Our conference might be a couple years away from being able to compete with this level of football. I was very proud of my kids. They played hard and had a chance. We made some bad mistakes in the kicking game, and you can't do that against a good football team. I'm taking nothing away from North Dakota State. They have a good team, they're well coached, and they deserved to win.

On the final eight minutes...
I think more than anything they just kind of wore us down. We needed something good to happen, and something good happened for them. That screen pass was a real back-breaker.

On the line of scrimmage...
It was a struggle, especially in the first half. We weren't running the football very well. We made some adjustments at halftime and we ran it a little better in the second half. They had some pretty good pash rushers too. When we tried to throw the ball, my young quarterback was getting rushed pretty good.

On the crowd noise...
No, I don't think that was a factor. I really don't. We practiced last week with some noise on the field, but I didn't hear any of my kids complain about it and it didn't seem that bad during the game.

On sophomore quarterback Jeff Sinclair...
Jeff is a very, very good football player. He's not quite an accomplished quarterback yet but I think he's getting there. He certainly has the ability to do a lot of things. I think the key thing with Jeff is he's what I'd describe as a winner. He's a great competitor. We did a lot of things with him today bootleg-wise to try to get him out of the pocket and get him away from some of the pass rush. Some of it worked pretty good.

On going for it on fourth-and-1 by the goal line early in the game...
I knew we needed to score more points. I knew we had to get points on the board. I thought it was a rational decision at the time. Maybe it isn't right now, but I thought it was at the time.

On defense...
There's no doubt that our kids stayed in the game for a long time. It just seemed like it got away from us there after that 20-17 score. One of the big plays was that screen pass where he took it all the way down to the 5-yard line.

On the screen pass...
We had practiced against it, and they didn't use it for quite a while. Then all of a sudden they used it at two good times. The play hurt us. There's no doubt about that. It was very well executed.
