To answer your question, not every Top 25 voter had input for the conference projections. The conference projections had a smaller committee of people involved. There were aprox. 10-12 per conference.

Plus, I can not speak for the voters of the poll, but I feel that the rankings indicate where the teams are right now. The projections are a prediction of where the teams are going to finish at the end of the season.

Also, the votes that separated SIU and Illinois State were only a 6 vote difference. The voting for the conference ranking had a difference of 1 vote. I can not explain the YSU and Northern Iowa. That is just the way it came out.
