That was rough but the Griz held their own against that semi-pro team that Marshall had....Moss, Gesser et al.

I had the great honor (along with around 500 other folks) of attending Appalachians very first playoff game (against Nichols State).

It was, of course, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. No students, with 8-10 inches of snow. I don't recall the band even showing up - LOL

Yup.

I believe it was '85 or '86. Sparky had 'em playing some good ball. We whupped on Marshall pretty good but the vermin from Fermin were a real pain in the butt.
