Liberty thinks the Big South is just going to roll over and give them the Auto-Bid this year....ain't gonna happen. There is a new wind blowing in the Big South this year. GW, CCU and Stony Brook are gonna have a dog in the fight. Count on it.

Re: The Liberty Low-Down
I haven't seen a single Liberty fan that has said the auto-bid will come without a fight. All we've said is that it will come. Though I'll tell you what: in the list of teams expected to compete for the league title, I've NOT seen Gardner-Webb on the list. It all revolves around Liberty, Stony Brook, CCU, and Chuck South. I wonder what THOSE schools have to say about GWU.BigDawgPop wrote:Liberty thinks the Big South is just going to roll over and give them the Auto-Bid this year....ain't gonna happen. Good calls BDK and Ursus, I forgot about the new opening round, and I had never realized matchups were setup before bids. We'll just call it a coincidence that teams like UM, App and Delaware are always matched up with non-seeds in round 1

Besides agreeing with everything citdog said
I'm glad Liberty is representing the FCS well with a high quality stadium such as theres. Good luck going to FBS. Hope you get there (long) before us (ASU).

Yeah, I didn't see any LU fan say the autobid was underwraps. SBU showed us that wasn't the case last year. It's all played on the field!

Yeah man the pairing are set regionally without conference members playing each other and THEN the bid packages are opened to see who will be the host team.Silenoz wrote:Good calls BDK and Ursus, I forgot about the new opening round, and I had never realized matchups were setup before bids. Of course the NCAA knows that UD, MT, and App are gonna have pretty decent bids and the revenue that will be made on ticket sales (which goes to the NCAA) will always give a big edge for at least that first home game.

Re: The Liberty Low-Down
I think some of you folks underestimate how much Liberty would be willing to bid to host a playoff game. Then again, I think most folks underestimate how much Liberty has been investing in the program over the past few years. Some you guys who have coasted on being in an auto bid league with a reputation to coast into the postseason may be surprised at how stout some of the "lesser" league champions prove to be in this new era of expanded playoff football.

+1!!!! AGREE 100%! i guess we can finally find out this year! They do. I replied to Silenoz's post before reading the rest of the thread and seeing that others had already set the record straight.Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:I thought the seeds have the first weekend off this year?BDKJMU wrote:

Liberty wins the NEC they likely won't have a 1st round bye (8-3 or 9-2 they won't, 10-1 they would), so their bid will come into play with whatever other 13-20 teams they are paired with in the 1st round. 1st round:
-NEC AQ will likely be paired with Patriot AQ.
-Big South AQ could be paired with MEAC AQ, OVC AQ if its EKU, a 3rd So-Con (2nd At Large), or a 4th CAA (3rd At-Large).
They win their 1st round game they will be @ one of the seeds in the 2nd round.

shoot, with the millions of dollars the bigot and charlatan falwell fleeced from blue haired old ladies you should have bought your way into a better league. your conference doesn't deserve an automatic bid. your champion would place 5th or worse in the Southern Conference.Sly Fox wrote:I think some of you folks underestimate how much Liberty would be willing to bid to host a playoff game. 2008 against the SoCon we were 2-0 vs Western, and ranked Elon. Citadel that year went 1-1 against these two teams. So all that matters is that we would beat your precious Bulldogscitdog wrote:shoot, with the millions of dollars the bigot and charlatan falwell fleeced from blue haired old ladies you should have bought your way into a better league. your conference doesn't deserve an automatic bid. your champion would place 5th or worse in the Southern Conference.Sly Fox wrote:I think some of you folks underestimate how much Liberty would be willing to bid to host a playoff game. Our team and entire program is on the rise. We dont deserve to be in the Big South.
Re: The Liberty Low-Down
We will more than likely have an opening round home game against one of the other conferences AQ's. Then go on the road to a CAA/ App St seeded team.

Im gonna cast my preseason vote. I think Liberty is going to win the 2010 Big South Championship but... don't count Stony Brook, Charleston Southern, or Coastal Carolina out. Liberty, if you win, good luck. Back in '06 when we made the playoffs (without the auto-bid ) we were gift wrapped and sent to App St.

Hey DK, I've been meaning to send you a PM to ask you but I've been too lazy or it's slipped my mind. Do you post occasionally on NFL.com under the same name? I added a DKHardee on there a while back.DKHardee wrote:Im gonna cast my preseason vote. it is quite possible that the Bulldogs will stink out loud this year. bunch of new coaches and a return to the triple option. unless Jack Douglas and Everette Sands have eligibility left.Ursus A. You see in this process you guys have to come in and suffer the bad jokes, and all the other shit you've heard a thousand times before. I know it's got to be sickening but it happens in the learning the new guys process.
Now, on the other side of that coin we have to suffer through all the old jokes about guys like Citdog and The Citadel and so forth. I can not relate to you how many times that "Sit dog, SIT" line has been used.
It's new to you and you found it funny. I get that. Thing is that a lot of the stuff that is hacky old shit to you has the same effect on some here.
We just gotta suffer though it (both of us) for a while and we'll get the hang of it.
