Funny, in 2004 I witnessed a pregnant woman get hit in the face with a full beer can at the hands of a W&M student.
I've never seen anyone get spit on, that would be cause for a fist fight.
I have. Was sitting in JMU student section at the time. Come to think of it, it was also 2004. Point is, ODU fans showed great passion and support for team, but rowdiness is another matter.
So we're gonna base our opinion on a whole fan base on the student section?? Do we really want to go down that path????

Were you sitting in the ODU student section?
You know a lot of our "classless" image bull would be immediately dispelled if the visitors weren't half a section, or closer, away from the student section.

Valid point. Move the students and close down the MRD's and JMU might be the classiest fanbase in the CAA!

I'm still waiting on one worthwhile thing to come from your keyboard.
I'll stand by.
Wait. Was another malicious virus sent? I ran a full-system scan and the virus seems to be eradicated from my workstation now.

I don't know what you're talking about, but jrj has definitely toned things down some. His 0-11 prediction can no longer come true, but he can still keep the horizon small and think about the Spiders going 0-1 every week from here on out. Got to focus on the now, not the tomorrow if you're jrj.

No and no. I'd be dissappointed, and angry to see a Tribe fan hurl a beer can at anyone. And I wouldn't want the act generalized in anyone's mind, either, and not just about the fan base, but also about the University community as a whole. Tailgating and college football games are discrete social events---throw in the numbers of people involved, and the drinking, and it's unavoidable that someone will do something crass. That said---at ODU I was greeted across campus with smiles and "enjoy the game" etc, something you don't always encounter at an away game.
BTW, to DukeJack, I would not equate obnoxious with "classless". Obnoxiousness can be in good humor like, for example, streamers! Classless---I'd reserve that for a stadium cheering an opponent injury. No upside there.
UR fans consider a large number of fans enjoying football unruly, hence, JMU fans are unruly in their eyes. I'd be upset too it the visiting school brings more fans than the home team, just does not seem right ...but UR took action, built a stadium for Spider Club members only. No worries, there is a JMU football viewing party or several in about every Va city and town.
Go ahead, tell me that I could not attend UR, SAT score just not up to snuff...bull shit
James Madison University --- Better than you since 1908...

G&G, you are always welcome at my tailgate...so long as you don't drink all my beer or throw the can/bottle at my wife...who is pregnant... BUT, if you're going to do the latter, please drink all the beer first.

Ditto mcveyrl, except my wife was last pregnant 27 yrs ago. Speaking of daughters, I'd love to get mine the "Thanksgiving came early" T shirt someone posted here or CAAzone. ?Available on-line somewhere?

They had to stop making them because of copyright issues.

This reminds me of something.... I've been scouring my computer for it, but can't find it.... does any JMUer out there happen to have the Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving picture with the Hokie Bird serving up the Thanksgiving turkey? I believe the caption says "Duke Dog would never eat his own kind." Someone made a bunch of these things for the 2004 Capital One Mascot Challenge and I can't find them anywhere... thought I'd saved them.
It's this one, with the old man in the back replaced by the hokie:

With The Village Ukrops out and a new Martin's in, UR has a better local selection of booze, yes? No more line of UR Marys buying wine coolers from CVS
Good luck vs DE tomorrow. Regardless of the outcome, the Richmond Times Disgrace will cover the story about the same.

That really wasn't very creative, but I can only imagine you are jealous that you couldn't get into UR and benefit from the CVS stockpile of Bartles and James products.
Such is life. When life serves you lemons, make a Mike's Hard Lemonade, buddy.

I don't know but you'd think his dumb ass would eventually work out that those JMU fans don't post here so he'd go over to the zone. There's not much crossover between the JMU fans here and there so I don't know why he doesnt go bitch over there - and don't you guys have your own boards exactly for stuff like this?
Well, his dumb ass did go over to the zone. At least 10 posts on the Robins stadium thread. Making himself out to be a total tool.

Of the schools in CAA football, I dislike JMU the most! I can't stand those Barneys! While I am not too happy with the capacity of Robins Stadium, at least those Barneys will not be able to invade like they did when the games were played at the old UR stadium!
