Ooh. Ooh. I know! You crossed the Delaware River roundtrip twice, needlessly. You should have done everything you needed to do in NY/NJ once and only crossed the river once. You only get charged westbound.
Oh, and yeah, Delaware wrecks your pocketbook. Here's the way to avoid those eight bucks:
93. Do him a favor and also post the location of SLL off Elkton as well. If he get's tired on his way up to 4, he can stop in for the international cheese selection.

SLL = State Line Liquors = killer selection of beers
Most Delaware folks know how to avoid toll (using 93's map). Even better during holiday time when that toll is massively backed up if you know route from earlier exits.

That's funny. I really didn't cross it twice, I was merely illustrating the cost of crossing tunnels and big bridges in the general area versus, well, pavement. After stopping by the stadium, the southbound 95 ramp was closed and the detour directed me south of the toll. So now I know. It looks like they are finally only going to charge you northbound at that toll. But it will likely be at least $8 for the one way hit. That is where the backroads knowledge will come in handy.
