A couple of Longhorn teammates used the football/baseball combo to their benefit in opposite fashion. Ricky Williams had the Phillies make him the best walk-on college football player ever before concentrating on football & alternative medicine. Adam used his Longhorn football experience to drive up his baseball-exclusive contract.
It is tough to argue with somebody wanting to concentrate on a career that has the potential to set him up for life.

Just wish he had given up football two games earlier. 
All the best to him as he was one hell of a college football player and I'm glad I got to see him play in person in Boone before he left the sport.
