UND doesnt reserve 10% of its scholarship money for native american medical students. UND distributes taxpayer funds to those students in an effort to buy favor.

What is not lost in all of this is how UND stonewalled, abused, ignored and then tried to patronize the native americans for 50 yrs and never once went to them to work on the issue or drop the name. It was all about UND, everything else was an afterthought including scholarships, special studies etc.

I believe SDSU had their bout with either the NCAA or whatever group "claimed" to be offended by the Aztec nickname and won. SDSU got to keep "Aztec" (which is one of the most badass nicknames in all of sports) nickname but had to do away with paying to have the guy dressed as a Aztec dance around during sporting events...so the SDSU alumni association now pays to have the Aztec dance around during games and not SDSU.

UND is in the Big Sky. Good for them. They had 22 million TV screens and the most recognizable logo in the world long before the BSC fell on its face with the UND/USD deal. Let me know how big an audience UND football is able to grab on that national network!! Do we get it here in North Dakota?

I also think you should spend more of your time bragging up UND. The role fits you well! Also be sure to mention how much better UND is than any other school out west or in the Big Sky because they have more hockey titles as a D2 school than any other teams out there.

UND is no longer in the Dakotas. They quit in 2003. Its all about the Dakota Big 3 in North and South Dakota. UND is just another OOC game for the Big 3.

NDSU has 8 national championships. None of the UND butt hockey titles are D1 championships they were won when UND was D2.

In answer to your question:

UND quit playing in 2003. They havent played NDSU since. They did play SDSU last year and of course are in the GWC with University of South Dakota for one more season.

NDSU has made several offers to UND but they will not play. I can see why. UND made 2 bad South Dakota teams look great last year.
