GSU is a popular choice, but I'm not prepared to start playing the bugles for them at this point. They had a nice little run in the playoffs, but they shot themselves in the foot pretty well by lacking the quality to protect the football.

Based upon their schedule, it's going to be tough for GSU to be a seed going into the playoffs. They have to travel to Woffie, App State, and Alabama 3 of their last 4 games of the season (with conference cupcake Citadel tossed there). Nooga at home on Oct. 8th will be a measuring stick as well. If they can win 2 of those 3 conference matchups I've highlighted, they're a seed. If not, they'll be on the road for the playoffs like they were this year, and that's a damn tough position to win a title from.

They certainly return a whole bunch of letter winners though.

Certain teams match up with other teams very well. In W&M's case, they had no answer for the GSU's T.O. UD, on the other hand, has experience defensing the T.O. because of Keeler's experience against Navy.

I love it when UD draws rushing teams in the playoffs.

Boy, Radford really went out on a limb there, didn't he? I never seen someone hedge their bets as much as him with his "bold" prediction.

Navy has zero to do with ODU's chances at Delaware Stadium. One game against W&M last season tells us very little about how ODU will fair in the CAA this season or in 3 weeks.

I have no idea how good or bad ODU will be this year. What I do know is that everyone has a chance on any given saturday. As MM just said in a recent interview, you don't have to be better than them everyday of the year but just for 3 hours. Anything can happen. I wouldn't take ODU lightly.

It's not a matter of taking anyone lightly. (Incidentally, as fans, we have the ability to do just that without it having any impact on reality whatsoever.)

This is simply a case of a sports reporter trying to attract headlines with ambiguously provocative comments & predictions. I get it. Radford was trying to be controversial to draw attention to his rag. In that case, he could have just as easily written that Delaware COULD be in a position to stomp a mud hole through ODU in 3 weeks and he would have been no less accurate. That wouldn't have sold many papers or attracted many hits to the paper's website, however.

Poorly reasoned comments & attention-getting statements don't necessarily make Radford a bad journalist or even unique. I suspect his writing about CAA FB will improve as he gets more exposure to/experience with it.

Now that you remind T-Dog, it brings up a very good point. If we wanted the opinion of a moron on whether or not ODU could or couldn't beat Delaware, without any actual information to support his opinion, we could have just called in FCS expert Dave Coulson or some other mouthpiece of the Appy program without any journalistic integrity. For shame Rich Radford, for shame.
