Its salt in the wounds because UND is in the same poll (article) as UND. I know it hurts some fans to see UND in a poll. And even if it is mistaken identity, when does that end? UND will in the future deserve to be in the polls at some point so if it does warrant it (example UND is 8-2 or 9-2), are people going to cry foul everytime? I want to know who are these voters and what schools they are from.

You are always going to have zealots from each school who belittle the accomplishments of the other no matter what. How is posting a comment like "salt in the wounds" going to be beneficial to either party? Rather than immediatley assuming that Bison fans would be complaining about it, why not just be proud of it?

This poll is discredited in so many ways that you have to wonder about those putting any stock in it at all. But, if they are rewarding all the things it appears they are, NDSU should be #1 if they can keep it close but lose to the Gophers.
Either way its like back in '03 when the BISON beat Montana on their home turf. It hurt NDSUs chances in the D2 playoffs and if a win against the Gophers is going to hurt our chances in the FCS rankings so be it.

My first thought when I saw UND at #21 was.."what was the coaches thinking"? Then my second thought was here come the "must have been confused by the NDSU fans". They (Bison fans on AGS) complained that UND got votes that NDSU should have gotten at the end of the first week and also last week. So I thought are they going to complain every week UND gets a vote and every week that NDSU is NOT #1.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
I feel sorry for UND. They obviously dont deserve a 21 ranking but like the unpopular girl elected prom queen only to find out its a joke (Carrie?), UND has votes only to find out they arent theirs.
If UND had won I would understand. Good job. You won. Heres a ranking. UND Lost! Is the Moral Victory being rewarded?
Im puzzled by NDSUs drop, unless it is of course the confusion issue, but I am proud of the BiSON for what they accomplished. They deserve their ranking.

Just to be clear, while having NDSU get mistaken for UND kind of sucks even if it doesn't affect NDSU's ranking, seeing the Herald, UND's SID, and UND fans celebrate an accidental ranking is really making up for it.
Heck, I think UND AD should hold a press conference. Must be exciting times up there... 2-8 in their last 10 games with wins against first-year football program Lamar and non-scholarship Drake and a big game against Black Hills State just around the corner. Things are looking up at UND!
Who knows? Maybe UND could pass NDSU in the rankings next week!

Really? SAM is 2-0 with both being against FCS schools. SFA is 1-2 with their only win against a transitioning DIII. If you think SCSU should be out then think about SFA (although they will probably win this weekend, unfortunately, and keep them in the rankings..... meaning they'll earn it back.)
Not sure McNeese should be in there either, but their schedule hasn't allowed for us to really see how they'll do in SLC play.
Also always interesting to see that 2-1 teams from some conferences get placed higher than 2-1 teams from others...on reputation.

Hmmm....Good point. Maybe some of the NDSU votes are actually meant for UND but since NDSU is world renowned and UND isn't the voters mistakenly picked NDSU?
