Yeah, I think ODU can sneak into the playoffs in a fairly weak CAA (and FCS in general) year.

They can, but they must beat Towson this week IMO. The NCAA would love to have ODU in the playoffs.

Did ODU play any D-II's at all? If not, a 7-4 ODU could slip in, considering their attendance. They'd probably be willing to splurge on a bid in their exuberant first year and might even host a game at 8-3.

Which would be a shame if they end up drawing NSU, because DPS is nearly twice the capacity. And you would guarantee a sellout there since its right across town, but ODU doesn't respect NSU (fans in general, not necessarily all the posters on here).
Although (looking ahead) a 10-1 MEAC Champ NSU with only lost being to a Top-20 BCS team would be a little difficult to justify in a opening round game. (But I'm sure they'll find a way...)

Ah, I thought they were 4-2, but even so, lose to Towson and tough games with their Virgnia bretheren in the home stretch. Obviously the second half of their schedule is much tougher than the first (same goes for TU).

Seriously? When was the last MEAC victory in the playoffs?

What's that got to do with anything? So an 11-0 NSU would still deserve a opening round game?
But I'm not really arguing about that, my point is that how likely that the NCAA would have a ODU-NSU playoff matchup @ ODU.

Just because the balance of power has shifted south/west doesn't mean the FCS is 'weak'. You guys crack me up.

I don't have a problem with NSU or HU at all. I think they are both solid programs and are both on the rise. My only issue at all is one of respect by the HU band and leader choosing to play during the game in the opponents house. I call THAT a lack of respect. If you want to do that at your own stadium and is accepted there, fine but to do that on the road is disrespectful IMHO.
As far as hosting a playoff game, nobody is telling Marty Miller that he can't put in a bid to host a game.
The questions here are does he want to pony up the 30K, and would doing that ruffle some feathers of an opponent with whom he just inked a multi-year extension? I don't think NSU will put in a bid.
Good luck to the Spartans until we meet on the field.
GSU, Wofford, MSU, da Bizon (threw up in my mouth a little), SUU...some good squads in the CAA, too.
Like I said, a down year for FCS in general. The top team (real GSU) has some serious flaws, according to their own fans here. Hell W&M is ranked 16th after we blanked them on Saturday, and if that's the 16th best team in the field, FCS is really, really down. Hell, even us at #9 is really questionable. If we're top ten...
Respect for NSU? I respect them for what they were, and what they are today. They have been terrible for years and now are playing better. Other than that, there is not much more to say. To me they are not much different than any other OOC team we have faced regarding the level of anticipation for the matchup. They reside in the same city but unfortunately do not get anywhere near the same press coverage. That is eating at their fans and will be used to forge a strong rivalry, at least from their viewpoint. Sadly, they will have to beat us in order for the game to be something to get excited about.
Yeah, our conference schedule looked a lot tougher in August than it does today. Especially factoring in the lack of a bye week.

Gee, us Delaware fans can't relate to this at all.

Did you throw them in there as bait for me?
As for the other teams... yeah, they are strong, but that's the same number of strong teams from the BSC, SoCon as normal. I'd throw UNI in with NDSU but SIU is down, WIU is down, YSU is still down, Montana isn't up to old snuff, Weber is bad, EWU is struggling, nobody in the Southland is really impressive... I'm still searching for this shift to the south and west.

Weber is not bad, were just not world beaters
I meant bad as in not up to where the 2008-09 teams were. Weber is down from there. There are just a LOT of down teams this year.
