Re: How many CAA teams will survive next week?
These are some tough match-ups for the CAA. I think Towson has the best shot for a W at home against Lehigh. Other than that, I think one other team will get a W somewhere.........
Lehigh @ Towson - Towson at home
UNH @ Montana State - MSU deserves to be written off as a legit Big Sky program if they cannot win one damn playoff game at home. I think, however, they will win this one in a squeaker.
ODU @ Georgia Southern - Going with GA Southern at home.
Maine @ App. State - Going with the home team again.........
JMU @ NDSU - Just a hunch.

UNH @ Montana State - MSU enters the playoffs after bad loss to the Griz. Negative momentum = narrow loss. UNH by one score.
ODU @ Georgia Southern - ODU fans seem to be resting their laurels on the fact that they have seen the triplr option in the past. Well, they haven't seen the GSU TO and the speed at which it is run. GSU by two scores.
Maine @ App. State - two very good teams. I see this as an even match up, but will allow CAA homerism to cause me to pick Maine in a nailbiter.
JMU @ NDSU - Tougher than expected battle for JMU against EKU. Rested NDSU team at home has the edge. Bison by double didgits.
Lehigh @ Towson - Is Towson going to suffer from "happy to be here" syndrome? Maybe a little, but the Tiggers still have too much talent for the Engine Hawks. Towson in a close game.

Well, once you get on a plane, the distance doesn't matter too much. Everyone will likely have about a 1.5 to 4.5 hr plane ride (wheels up to wheels down).Dukie95 wrote:It's going to be really tough. 4 out of 5 will be road dogs...but with a ****-load of travel for everyone. ODU has the shortest trip at 500 miles.
I went with 2. Towson, plus law of averages says one of the other teams makes it, but I have no idea who that might be...probably UNH.
I still contend that the CAA is having a down year, and this is the weekend everyone becomes a believer.

FWIW, the sports network only picked one winner this week in the CAA and that's Towson.

Re: How many CAA teams will survive next week?
I beg to differ since I think traveling two time zones is very significant. And traveling the long distance into potential bad weather requires a team to leave a day earlier than every other playoff trip they've made except one (same state BTW). The distance doesn't matter???? And please explain how a 4.5 hour plane ride with big football players stuffed into coach seats is the same as a 1.5 hour trips? I don't think it's a coincidence that the only championship team to win all road games along the way to the chipper had three bus games along the way.BDKJMU wrote:Well, once you get on a plane, the distance doesn't matter too much. I think the 2 time zones and potential weather issues have a much bigger effect than the extra couple hours on a plane.UNH_Alum_In_CT wrote:I beg to differ since I think traveling two time zones is very significant. shouldn't you worry instead about the 4 td win that Wofford is going to have this coming weekend against UNI?
what UNI, do you ask?
the same UNI that lost in the first round last year to the Patriot League team...

Woffords ground game is going to put more points up in a game than any that UNI has played so far? Interesting....UNI hasn't given up 28 points to any team this season.......
I don't see that happening to a team with a ground and pound offense that has had some struggles against the better run defenses they have faced? I don't see that happening.
Stick to trolling shit that you actually know about....which leaves you with nothing. Fucking khundt

Or because your team sucked and you couldn't win 7 FCS games despite upsetting ODU earlier in the season. Crying about the selection committee? Look, the teams in the field this year just don't seem as good as the ones we've seen in recent years...and no fan of a school that didn't give a rats ass about this league 24 months ago will convince me otherwise.
I'd LOVE to be proven wrong, believe me.
