Dumbass...there is no white guy on a horse with a flaming spear at Florida State. The seminole tribe of Florida is totally behind the school and the rider is definitely a seminole, not white. :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:
That's the difference between Florida State and UND. (Well that and their women are hotter and their football team's 3rd stringers would wipe the floor with UND's 1st team.)

Their mascot is NOT a Florida Seminole he is a white guy on a horse.
Even if that were true...it still doesn't change the fact that FSU and the Seminole tribe proved themselves capable of acting like grown ups in their mascot debate. Something UND can't claim, I'm afraid.

UND had support from the Spirit Lake Nation, I didn't see FSU getting approval from all the Seminole tribes of country. (Standing Rock is mostly in South Dakota).

How many times do I have to cite this article before you (supposedly) smarter UND dunces figure out that Florida State got approval and resolved their mascot debate correctly? http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/ ... oved_x.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Since most UND fans have proven too slow to get it, I did a bit more homework on the matter. FSU might have done it wrong at first, but at least they weren't pigheaded/dumb/both when they got called out on it to resolve it. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NatNews/message/39441" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

One council member from the seminoles of Oklahoma went on record as opposed it, to my knowledge. Yet their tribe took no official position and voted 18-2 not to oppose it. And the Florida Seminoles are totally behind it. With that in mind, I'd wager that the majority of native americans who oppose it either aren't seminoles and definitely aren't power brokers within their tribes.

In short, FSU went right to the tribe, got their permission and did with respect and with an eye for spreading awareness about the tribe its athletic teams are named after. UND didn't get their permission. Move on. Get over it.

Get over it? You responded to a post I did from April 10th!! How about you get over it. I accepted and voted to retire the name. I am fine with UND not being the Fighting Sioux per NCAA policy. Did UND get F'd by the ND Atty General...yes. Getting two tribal approvals was stupid. Did UND get F'd by Spirit Lake...yes. If Spirit Lake would have given their approval prior to the lawsuit when the NCAA asked them their position UND would have stayed the Fighting Sioux and there would be no lawsuits. But Spirit Lake stood neutral on the issue and didn't do anything. So now they(SL) tried to sue the NCAA. Well welcome to the party 7 years too late. NCAA won the lawsuit, they will also win the appeal that is coming so this whole this is over. UND will have their new name in 2015. I have gotten over it.

You're arrogant enough to think I sought out your post? :roll: I was merely browsing the forums when I saw Bisonville and your name in the same forum. Naturally I'm curious to see what a fan of the university of southern Canada had to say on the matter. Purely based out of the comedic value, of course. :lol:

Since you are a fan of Moo U. I will tell you that my response was to a video that Lakes posted. He is a FSU fan but at the same time quotes Indians who hate Indian nicknames. I see a conflict there don't you. So the comedic value was you responding to something I posted 4 months ago and telling me to get over the hypocracy of Florida State's nickname compared to UND. How do you like that one Gallager. :lol:
