We got around 7-9 at Hampton, basically enough for 2 songs and fight song off the field. At Towson, we're only gonna have enough time to play one song and then play the fight song off the field.

Last game (Maine) was a near sell-out. I think it was like 500 short or so. (EDIT: Just checked. 21,506 attended. Capacity is ~22K)

The nightmarish collapse has haunted Old Dominion's football team for a year.

ODU led Towson 35-24 with a little more than three minutes to go last October and appeared to be coasting to a homecoming victory.

But then in an incredible comeback – or total meltdown, depending on your point of view – Towson took the lead in just two minutes.

First came a touchdown drive and 2-point conversion. Then the Tigers recovered an onside kick and completed a throw-it-and-pray, 63-yard touchdown pass on fourth-and-29 to win 39-34.

On the critical play, quarterback Grant Enders scrambled to his right to avoid a rush, then tossed an off-balance pass up for grabs. Receiver Tom Ryan went up over two defenders and hauled it in. He then turned, broke three tackles and carried two Monarch defenders with him into the end zone.

"We didn't know it at the time," coach Bobby Wilder said, "but that game cost us the Colonial Athletic Association title."

As the Monarchs prepared this week to play at Towson at 7 tonight, Wilder said he didn't mention the comeback or the 63-yard touchdown pass.

"They're aware of it and I'm sure they're going to hear a lot about it," Wilder said.
