You have 2 losses. If we both win out we'll only have 1. So I wouldn't be surprised to get a seed over you.
It would be an interesting scenario. Especially if NAU loses. We would win the tie breaker for conference title, have the h2h, a stronger schedule, and the same amount of DI wins. The committee would basically be rewarding MSU for scheduling a DII

Well, that's what I'm gonna do. Predict the 5 seeds Sat night, Nov 17.
That may increase your chance of being right, but it doesn't make your poll any more meaningful. Besides, why not discuss possible seeds now? It gives you an idea of who to scoreboard watch for. If your team has made it this far with 1 or fewer losses it is in the running for a seed. As a fan, I'd like to know who else to look at on Saturday.

You'd both have 9 qualifying wins, but they'd have an FBS win and the head-to-head

They're going to lose their last game, and possibly one other, so it's a moot point. :coffee: :fuel:

There are WAY too many great teams out there who are deserving....
Assuming they both win out you think the cats with a DII on the schedule and losing h2h would get a seed over us?
Not only do I think that, but it would be a lock, MSU would be the hot team.

aint gonna happen though, EWU has another loss

You would have won 4 in a row versus our 3 in a row. I don't think you're "hotness" would trump the other factors.

If EWU manages to continue skating by squeaking out wins I guess you will just have to be dissapointed then

Yep, that bit us in the butt yesterday. But you've skated and squeaked a few yourselves...against lesser competition....and with a home loss to us. But keep convincing yourself otherwise. Good luck against Sac, they're a solid team and haven't had this much to play for this late in the season in forever. I'd hate to see you guys finish 5th this year. :thumb:

I'd lay off savoring your seed until its in your mouth Big Cat. :tothehand:

You STILL have to play a really tough Sac State team at their house and you still have to play Montana at Missoula which no matter what the Grizs' record is...will be a tough all or nothing game.

Oh and yes a "can be tough" Portland State team at home. None of those games is a gimmee.

Lets just see how it plays out. I think the Big Sky gets 3 in. I am just glad that NAU has its destiny in its own hands. We don't need any help if we just take care of business.

Hey now, they've won like...4 out of their last 26 tries. Gotta love those odds, right? :?

Look it was the Eagle that threw out the hypothetical question that I responded too, and it was implied that we were talking if both teams win out, his belief was that due to the head to head EWU would have a higher seed, I disagreed, and added that it is unlikely that EWU can win out anyway.

Its getting to be that point in the season that various posters begin looking at the scenarios that place the teams into the playoffs, if it bothers you then you should probably stay off the boards for the next few weeks because it is just getting started. :thumb:

Not just the h2h, but a better resume. FWIW, I give you guys a 50/50 chance to win this week. So who knows, maybe were both right and lobbying for at large bids by the end.

  I will take your 50/50 chance of the Cats beating Sac over your 30 percent chance of winning over CP

I would. EWU would 9-2 with a win over MSU, MSU would be 9-1 with a loss to EWU.

You should follow your own advice about these threads and not get wrapped up in them. Kinda painful to watch...

Solid list, would NDSU stay above SDSU if they both had 9-2 records? That would mean the Jacks beat the Bison at the Fargodome.

You would be correct Thump.....SDSU would need to beat NDSU to be 9-2, and would probably be MVFC champs.....so if they want to stick to that list they probably need to put SDSU at 8-3 and NDSU at 10-1, that would probably put ISU-B as a seed rather than SDSU.....Or flip them with the current records listed. Suffice it to say a pretty exciting last few weeks of Missouri Valley football coming up! Jacks vs Salukis this weekend a win there and in 2 weeks the SDSU v NDSU football game is probably the FCS game of the week(as it should always be).

There's going to be a lot more losses than that among those 14 teams, as there is 4 weeks of football to go. That's about 50 games among those 14 teams (some still have byes) and there will be multiple upsets, including some shockers. Happens every year

If SBU, and/or Albany and/or Lehigh finish 10-1, they would certainly be top 12 bye teams.

Bottom line is trying to predict seeds now is about as worthless endeavor as tits on a bull.
Albany will be playing in the first round no matter what. Our best win is either Colgate or Maine an our loss is to a frefalling YSU. Not a resume if a team deserving a bye. Even at 10-1.
