Seriously, you really couldn't have scripted a much better game to attend.
This game did not aid in my rehabilitation. I only hate App State more now.
As a third party observing, the palpable hate and discontent between these two SoCon fan bases is remarkable. BTK's seats were looking right down at the dividing line between the visiting fan section and the home fans. I thought a Gangs of New York style pick-your-weapon-of-slaughter type brawl could break out, especially after the refs called back GSU's miraculous first down conversion with two minutes left and then the drive failed. I saw a bunch of App fans start shit talking, and then I saw various pieces of debris being thrown at them.
It was fucking cool.
On a serious note though, having met T-Dog makes it tougher to hate App State. Something about T-Dog just exudes "yo, chill out and relax". So, you sort of just chill out and relax. I mean, I was about to say App State Su.... And then T-Dog introduces himself and I thinking about how App State isn't so bad. It was like a weird Dr. Spock positive mind meld thing. Now that I'm outside his realm of influence, I can just begin to start talking about App hate again.
That's EXACTLY why I love the folks in Boone, and ASU's game day experience so much!
I found the Appalachian State fan base to be a mirror image of the Griz!

It was probably the spliff he handed you at half time.

Nope, that didn't happen.
It was the "bowls" of great conversion, hospitality, and Booneshine that made our trip so memorable!
