I said it was rumored.
SuperHornet wrote:ODU: What the heck did you fans do to deserve THAT?!? That's a Weber-style "schedule yourself out of the playoffs" schedule if I ever saw one. That said, I think you take out the Pirates and the Bungles.
ODU will be in its first transitional year next season. As stated earlier, the team is playoff ineligible.
Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:I look forward to your beatdown of the Vandals. Too bad Blackmon had to fail a 3rd drug test and got kicked off the team... they might've been competitive.
Blackman was the QB in waiting at ODU once DeMarco graduated. He left because he thought he could play at at the "BCS level," which was apparently Idaho . That said, he had a bunch of issues at ODU as well and from what everyone heard, wasn't a team player at all. Thankfully it all worked out in the end 'cause we ended up getting Heinicke since we needed a new QB after Blackman's departure.

Guaranteed 4 point win and then we can hear how great SUU is because they lose so many close games. :jack:

Quick update on NDSU 2013. As of yesterday the NDSU Western Carolina contract is still on. Western Carolina's buyout would be 150,000.

NDSU AD is "actively pursuing" a 12th game for next year. It would be on the September 14th date, and we would use November 2nd as our bye. AD Gene Taylor said it will not be another FBS game and it won't be a non D-1 game. Look for a home and home with someone.

10/12/13 - @Liberty or BYE (not sure which)
10/19/13 - vs. VMI (Source)
10/26/13 - vs. Presbyterian (tentative - if we play VMI on 10/19, we'd have to play PC here since this is normally when we have Homecoming)
11/02/13 - vs. UNC-Charlotte
11/09/13 - vs. Gardner-Webb (Source)
11/16/13 - @ Liberty or BYE (not sure which)
11/23/13 - @ Univ. of South Carolina

AUG 31 - @ OREGON STATE
SEP 07 - Western Oregon

SEP 21 - BYE
SEP 28 - @ SHSU
OCT 05 - vs. Weber

NOV 02 - @ ISU
NOV 09 - vs. MSU
NOV 16 - @ Cal Poly
NOV 23 - vs. PSU

Toledo and OSU will both be very good, veteran teams returning many starters. As will SHSU, at their place, and WOU is a non counter of course. That leaves us 8 games to get 7 wins. We'll certainly have a team that can do it, but we're leaving no room for error. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

You get to dodge NAU, so that makes it an easy schedule.

We are at Arizona State and at San Jose State next season. Not sure who will be our last OOC game but if we can land a home FCS opponent it will no doubt be a home D2 game to get us 5 home games. I don't think our Pac-12 luck will sustain for 3 straight years and SJSU has finally found respectability again.

BTW is next season a 12 game season for FCS?

Yes, a 12-gamer.

Stony Brook 2013
Home - Brown, 4 CAA Teams
Away - Boston College, Buffalo, Colgate, 4 CAA teams

2014
Home - 4 CAA Teams
Away- UConn, Cincy, 4 CAA Teams

2015
Away - Temple ?
This could switch with the Temple game in 2014 and UConn in 2015. Guessing we will play an 8 game CAA schedule going forward.

For those who want to look a L-O-N-G way down the road...

The (Williamsburg) Virginia Gazette reports that W&M and ODU have tentatively agreed to a game in 2020 to be played in Norfolk.

UND's schedule:

Aug. 29 Valparaiso Grand Forks, ND
Sept. 7 South Dakota St. Grand Forks, ND
Sept. 14 Montana Grand Forks, ND
Sept. 21 open
Sept. 28 * Montana St. Grand Forks, ND
Oct. 5 * @ Idaho St. Pocatello, ID
Oct. 12 * Eastern Washington Grand Forks, ND
Oct. 19 * @ Portland St. Portland, OR
Oct. 26 * Sacramento St. Grand Forks, ND
Nov. 2 * @ Northern Arizona Flagstaff, AZ
Nov. 9 * Northern Colorado Grand Forks, ND
Nov. 16 * @ UC Davis Davis, CA
Nov. 23 open

Very nice looking home schedule. Sounds like UND is going to stick with 11 games (7 at home) although I would like them to see if they can get an away game as the front end of a home/home so they can get some other home games in the future. Also, have heard some rumors that the Griz may buy out the non-conference game, but it's on their official schedule as of now.

So far what I have been able to find on SUU's 2013 season:

-Sept. 14th: @ Washington State
-Sept. 28th: @ Northern Colorado
-Oct. 5th: vs. UC-Davis
-Oct. 12th: vs. Portland State
-Oct. 19th: @ EWU
-Oct. 26th: vs. Idaho state
-Nov. 9th: @ Weber State
-Nov. 16th: @ Montana State
-Nov. 23rd: vs. Northern Arizona

Not a bad non conference slate if I dont say so myself. We have some lower tier opponents (based on their performances this season) in UNC and ISU. Besides that we have a winnable FBS game (unless the Cougs drastically improve) and a good group of tough teams to play.

Now my only concern is the non-conference dates as this has been the issue with SUU the past few season, we always seem to schedule ourselves out of the playoffs. Have heard of a potential game @ UTSA along with a possible date with San Diego, hoping we schedule better this season.
