Thank you got doing that for me...I wad going to do that when I got home from work.

ZZ got over half his yards in less ooc games than conference games. He average over 5 ypc in only 1 mvfc game.

In 3 game against the BSC he had over 60 percent the total yards he had in 8 conference games

Yet a Big Sky team, which doesn't play defense by default, held him to fewer yards than any team not named NDSU.

Evidently they don't teach the value of zero in the MVC.

I've never claimed that ALL Big Sky teams play good defense. It's the MVC blowhards who claim that NONE of them do. That clearly isn't the case. :coffee:

Oh ya, I forgot....the MV doesn't play good defense obviously.

8 carries for 4 yards against the Bison.

And 100+ against every other team in the conference. Just because one team in the conference plays amazing defense doesn't mean all of them do.

Not all MV teams play 'good' defense. But on an 'average', I believe the MV as a whole does. What is considered good?

New Hampshire guys think they play very good defense. UNH has the #74th ranked total defense team giving up 404 yds/game and the #14th ranked scoring defense giving up 21 points/game.

I don't consider this 'very good' but definitely a good defense that bends but not breaks.

EWU's defense is ranked #104 in total defense (456 yds/game) and #68 in scoring defense (27.8/game)....is that considered 'good'...?

It's all relative. With the offense EWU has, their defense allowing 27 is usually enough to get them a win. Most MVC teams don't have prolific offenses, so they need stronger defensive play in order to win games.

106 against UNI on 31 carries.... just a touch over 3 ypc....that UNI defense that was missing 2 LB's, 2 DL, and 2 DB's....FWIW

I hope a RB can get 100 yards on over 30 carries...

6.99 ypc against Big Sky teams...4.4 against MVFC teams

If Sumner was anything better than mediocre, the Jacks could have made a serious run at EWU in the 2nd half. Unless he improves next year it will be the same ol for the Jacks next year.

I agree in regards to EWU. If they get by Towson then they will most likely face the Bison, IMO. Their defense will have to step up in the NC game because the Bison IMO, will not give up 30+ points to EWU. They are giving up 11/game now and it is probably safe to say that EWU would probably double that to 22-24 points.

In that match up it is going to come down to the EWU defense to win it for them. The Bison will hold down the EWU offense, the question is how much....

The Bison are averaging 38/game and EWU gives up 27-28/game. Like I said, IMO, it is going to come down to the EWU defense to win it for them.

The issue is Sumner isn't anything other than mediocre....on his best day at this point.

And your both missing the fact that Sumner played very well against Eastern.

NDSU plays some really great D

The rest of the valley for the most part is OK.

Some of the Valley play good offense...at times.

This has very little bearing on how good the BIg Sky's offenses are.

UNI has historically had pretty good defenses.

ANY time your sample set includes UND's defense, the statistics are skewed. :coffee:
