Not looking to play but I thought the online places were closed to people with US addresses for gambling or is that just sites like poker sites that did that

Put another way, how is online poker outlawed in the US but fantasy sports sites like Draft Kings are apparently legal?

Think I found the answer to Robs question on the FAQs of Draft Kings

https://www.draftkings.com/help/faq" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Is Playing On DraftKings Legal?

We are a US-based skill games company, and all of our contests are operated 100% legally under United States and Canadian law. The US Government and 45 of the 50 states consider fantasy sports a game of skill. We do not allow residents of Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, or Washington to participate in our contests due to state-specific regulation against cash prize awards. We also require our users to be 18 years of age or older (19 in Alabama and Nebraska). We take the legal status of our contests very seriously. If you have any questions related to this topic, please contact us.
So basically online (?) games of skill for money are considered legal and the online fantasy sports gambling lobby is better than the poker lobby. Got it.

Still doesn't answer mine because straight pick the winner games are not considered fantasy.

That'd be incorrect. Who do you think is betting on NFL or college football games on these sites?

Apparently the IRS will recognize and accept taxation on winnings by U.S. Citizens on offshore sites but when you try to write off your losses they won't recognize it as legal. :lol:
