4 CAA in? Somebody making the quarters? Yes, I'd wager on BOTH of those statements.
I'll wager you $20 via Paypal:
4 (or more) CAA teams get in the playoffs I win.
Only 3 CAA teams get in the playoffs you win.

Another $20:
1 or more of those CAA teams makes the Quarters/Final 8, I win.
None make the quarters/past the round of 16, you win.
Deal..I don't work with PayPal though - I think you're local to me (SEPA area) so we'll work out a way for you to get me my $40

I heard something about UD losing 3 Senior Days in a row on last minute scores...So I looked it up. Wow, UD should stop scheduling Senior Day..

-2013 UR @ UD Senior Day. UR goes 7 plays, 75 yds in 41 seconds to score game winning TD with 4 seconds left to win 46-43.

-2014 VU @ UD Senior Day. VU goes 10 plays, 68 yds in 1:35 to score game winning TD with 23 seconds left to win 35-28.

-2015 JMU @ UD Senior Day. JMU goes 5 plays, 51 yards in 48 seconds to score game winning TD with 17 seconds left to win 24-21.

And to top it off, while I'm at it I noticed this. The week after that 2013 Senior Day loss to UR, then this gem to VU for the last game of the regular season:
VU @ UD. 12+ minutes left 4th qtr, UD leading 34-12:
-VU gets the ball, 12 play, 76 yd drive, TD.
-VU gets the ball, 7 play, 81 yd drive, TD.
-VU gets the ball, 6 play, 58 yd drive, TD. 2 point conversion failed.
-VU recovers onside kick, 12 play, 47 yd drive, 24 yd FG with 5 seconds left, wins 35-34. Loss knocks UD to 7-5. Would have gotten in playoffs at 8-4..

Holy chokage..

If you look further into 2013-2015, you will find several other games where we gave up scores at the end of the game or half in the last few seconds. Too many to count. Same stupid prevent D.

Our DC absolutely insists on playing 3 man rush at the end of the half or game. The odd thing is that John Robertson, after that 2013 comeback, was actually quoted in the paper as saying that UD's change to their prevent D made it easier for him to drive the team down the field. And yet we still employed that same defense against him the next year, and again against nova this year (another late come from behind victory for our opponent).

Deja vu all over again.

Ha, with 4 CAA teams in you already lost the 1st half of the bet.

And with 2 CAA seeds,
1 of these 3 teams will be in the qtrfinals: #5 JMU, UNH, Colgate
1 of these 3 teams will be in the qtrfinals: #7 UR, W&M, Duquesne

There's going to be TWO CAA teams in the qtrfinals. You may as well pay up now..

I owe.

But I was right with how bad the CAA has performed.

Hopefully UR doesn't get embarrassed this weekend like the other 3 teams were. UNH was undeserving, JMU was never the same after Lee went down & the Tribe almost fell to Duquesne before the Spiders just walloped them.

Yup, almost an all time low for the conference, or at least going back to the ugly days of the late 80's early 90's. I don't like Richmond's chances at all on the road at Ill St so this looks like the last weekend of play for the CAA. Richmond is/was the only legit playoff team (based on JMU not having Lee - with him it would be two teams). The other two were frauds and fared as such. Just a bad conference this year.

2011 was pretty bad. FIVE teams in the round of 16 (all playing non-CAA teams) and only Maine in the quarters.

And with the PL getting schollies, you no longer have the early round bye weeks into the quarters either. Christ, the NEC is challenging you now.

Yeah, we're going to have to find some directional D2's or Forts to play.

The CAA isn't playing defense these days and the teams seem to all be a little soft.

Cripes, we're becoming just like the Big Fluffy conference. :ohno:

The better ones would adequately replace the old Pl and NEC  but they'd drop your SOS even lower. The CAA's highest SOS (Elon) would have been the 11th best in the Big Sky even with the DII's and Forts. We mostly play multiple FBS, MVFC, and SLC teams OOC. Without looking, I'm guessing around half the BSC teams didn't play a DII this year.

Don't worry though. You still have a punchers chance in the first two rounds and should be able to hang your hat on more playoff wins while we'll still be playing mostly the MVFC and the one or two good teams from the SLC.

So you've got that going for you. Which is nice. :thumb:

Yeah, it's clear that the Big Sky won't be back in the semis any time soon. None last year. None this year. It's a shame.

Wait...didn't UNH lose to ISU by three points last year in the semis? :suspicious:

And nova, with the Player of the Year, might have met up with NDSU in the other semis.

How'd the Big Sky do again?

Meh.

At least the BSC has 5 playoff wins against the Valley over the last five years.
